Starting tomorrow: Well tomorrow is the... - Weight Loss Support
Starting tomorrow
Same for me too. I have just printed of the first week so just about to have a read through. I am at the 'fed up of myself stage' and at the heaviest I have ever been so not feeling healthy at all. Good luck with the next twelve weeks - keep positive!
Thank you I think my major problem is the motivation for excercise, once I start I'm fine it's just getting to that stage, I know how you feel I put on a lot of weight after I met my husband and we both unfortunately went from fitness freaks to.. Well not fitness freaks.
Isn't it always the exercise! Cant say I have ever been a fitness freak though did go to the gym for quite a while. If I could afford it I would get those meal things delivered to take the hastle out of the calorie counting but as you say ideas for meals would b good. Hey ho, tomorrow will hopefully get me moving and the pounds will hopefully fall off lol!
You make it sound so easy lol, but it will happen. I think with the support of others and belief in ourselves we will get there...I like to cook but it can be expensive for healthy eating so I would love for any cheap recipes if you stumble across any
I recently bought a slow cooker..so hoping to make lots of hot tasty stews with rice or toast...slow cooker is cheap to buy...great for winter...
Hi behappynow I have a twin slowcooker, but can't say it's had the joys of seeing any healthy dishes yet! I'd love to hear any great recipes you have?
Hi, my recipe for chicken stew in slow cooker..fry the chicken thighs in seperate pan..until brown..remove skin and pat down with kitchen roll..and chicken into slow cooker with 500g passata carton of tomatoes, tin of chopped tomatoes, chopped potatoes, carrots and any other veg you like like green beans, mini sweetcorn..add a little water...mix all...cook for 5 hours high heating...add some mixed herbs, Worcestershire sauce and kick of chilli powder, salt and pepper..enjoy...share with 4 people...with dry toast...
Me too! Good luck. I am determined to make it work this time.
I have changed my role at work and have a less responsible job, less stress so hopefully that will help.
Hi sue, good luck on the adventure ahead, have you done this diet before?
Hi Kitkat91 and welcome to this community and to the beginning of your new healthy lifestyle. I don't personally look at the nhs 12 week plan as a diet I look at it as a guide on how we should be eating and include exercise into our everyday lives. What we have done for many many years is to neglect to give what we are putting into our body's a second thought until we reach a point where we have to look at ourselves and say enough is enough what can I do to change this and lose this weight.
That's where the nhs 12 week plan comes into play. The key to all successful weight loss journeys is to plan, plan, plan and learn about portion control right from the start.
Begin your journey believing in yourself and your ability to take control. Tell yourself everyday 'I can do this' plan ahead of time and don't get caught out. Have a get up and go attitude and remember to take some time to reflect on your journey and remind yourself why you need to make these changes.
There will be times when you feel hungry once your body starts to notice that it is not getting the foods your used to putting in so be prepared for a little battle and have a quick healthy fix such as fruit, water or a hot drink to curb this as it will happen. Don't give in. Many of us have been through the first stages and for myself it has been 41 weeks ago so I have a little in site into what can be expected.
The best advice I can give to you right now is start exercising from the start as in your first week this is where you should see the biggest weight loss. Now this may not be the case for some people, but in my opinion it works. For me I started out walking at a brisk pace for 30 mins every day and stuck to my healthy eating to a T when I weighed in I had lost 7 lbs. I didn't give in to any temptations. I hope that my advice works for you.
Anyway I could go on, but I will leave this with you and I would like to wish you every success on your journey and remember 'anything is possible' good luck
Trafford1 x
Morning Trafford1, thank you for your insight, I have dieted before about 5 years ago which was a complete success and got really into it but this time I struggle to stick to it, I do believe I will be able to do it this time after recent photos from my trip to Majorca just looked shameful!
I'm also starting today and I'm focussing on getting two litres of water everyday
I think that will help my hunger cravings
I'm also going to try and get to bed on time as I always pick when I'm tired and I'm not going to stress too much if I eat something I feel I shouldn't - because I become a food vacuum!
Let's see how it goes!!!
Good luck x
The most important thing to do is not give up, one week you might lose, one week you might not. But dont give up, its took me a year and im 6st lighter and it is worth it. Believe in yourself! You can do it
