Cup cakes

So who knew that cupcakes and pizza were good for you! Oh - that's right, they're not! I ordered cupcakes for a friends birthday and they looked so good. And after that, what was the point of resisting pizza?!

Stupid, stupid me. I've gained a kilo and I feel rubbish :-(

I'm sure its not so bad and if your good this week it will balance out!

if we keep denying everything that's bad for us we are more likely to say stuff the diet entirely

Aw - don't be too hard on yourself. As hydrogirl says, sometimes you just have to allow yourself a little treat or have a hiccup - but the secret is to just put it behind you, try extra hard this week, and you will soon see that kilo disappear :-)

Oh no, still what's done is done or should I say what's been eaten has been eaten. We are all on a long term plan and will undoubtedly slip up from time to time. You say that you feel rubbish as a result of eating these things so could this be the motivation to get straight back to plan and limit any potential damage caused to your weight loss?

Its a bugger isn't it? Its like a separate part of our brain takes over and we just completely erase any reasons in our head for not eating rubbish. Our need to satiate and chow down on things esp. carbs just takes over - I honestly can almost feel my eyes glaze over.

Its so similar to quitting smoking in that those craving start and suddenly, magically you completely forget any reasons you have for quitting.

I wonder whether writing down the big reasons, the key points for why we want to slim down onto small card to slip into our wallet or purse would be a good idea so when our brains turn into carb seeking machines we can pull that card out just to refocus ourselves and remember that we DON'T want to look like an overstuffed pillow for ever.
