Hi Kizzy...

This site is truly amazing...post, read and respond to posts...really helps keep you in the right might set...I'm have now burnt off thirteen pounds of unnecessary stored energy...and feel great...still got about four more stone to go....but this is really exciting! Go for it....

I need a health club or something.. I stopped smoking 10 years with no aids, it was easier than losing weight. I need more nd over matter but struggling .. We can do it :-) thanks for your response x

The easiest thing to do is get up and go out for a walk, don't think about it too much just do it otherwise you'll talk yourself out of it. Having no motivation is easy, to be motivated is much more challenging.

Once you start and you feel better, the motivation will just come. I know this because I felt just like you at the beginning of the summer. I have gone out week after week and I now run 2/3 times a week 5k a time.

I was where you are at the start of the yr. knowing I needed to loose weight, knowing what I should do but just couldn't get started! Eventually with support and little changes I started to loose weight and so far I have lost 5 & 1/2 st this yr. You can do it too, seek support on here, from friends, your dr etc and you will make it!! Good luck

I am really impressed, well done.. I have been sponsored at work for sober October so hoping this will make a difference. I just need to keep motivated. Thank you for sharing your journey,

It's great to kick start with sober October but in the end make sure you're loosing weight for you and be proud of everything you accomplish!

I have 5st to lose and I know what u mean! I've tried so many times and failed and my motivation is really low

This time I'm motivated by my health rather than vanity and it's a better frame of mind

I think it's better to see it as a change of lifestyle rather than a diet so get a diary out and write (in pencil) your estimated weight after 1-2lbs each week for at least a year, I found it helped me as I saw that I would be xx weight by Xmas and that it would take over a year to lose which meant it's a long process so I need to not starve myself and find foods that work for me in terms of taste, filling me and low calorie too

Good luck!

Also maybe try yoga at home, it's not massive weight lose but u will feel more fit, and it's a gradual thing and not too intense

X

Hi kizzy, welcome to the forum, a good starting point. I think hydrogirl has hit the nail on the head when she wrote that this isn't a diet but a lifestyle change. There is nothing wrong with you hun, nothing at all. You are in a place that many of us on here have started at. Things can change, read some of the posts on here to see that this is true. Have you taken a look at the nhs 12 week plan? It could be a good place to begin. Reading, writing and responding to posts on this wonderful site is also a good boost to motivation too. Whatever and however you want to proceed with this health change, good luck. If I can help at all, just yell out, and I will try my best as I know that the majority on here would too. 😊

I can't believe how kind and supportive everyone is. It's a blessing X

I ha e been following weight watchers but don't seem to be getting anywhere, I have looked into the NHS 12 week plan and think the calories are a bit low to start with. I would go really hungry and start to binge..

So you have any suggestions please ?

Thank you x

in reply to

Hi Kizzy, I think many following the plan have increased the calories that they started it off on, I myself have between 1500 and 1600 kcals a day. I will only reduce this once my weightloss stops happening. Maybe this would work in the short term for you too. ☺️
