Could Thinking A Little Differently Help You?

How many times have you looked in the mirror and thought to yourself or even maybe said it out loud...

'I am fat'

...and allowed it to ruin your mood or led you to feel down or unhappy?

When we say 'I am' it is a very definitive statement that can subconsciously create a sense of fixation on or into whatever it is you 'are' which is not a problem when what you 'are' is a positive thing, but if it's a negative thing, it can keep you stuck and hold you back when you think and say it in that way.

The words we use, whether it be out loud or just in our heads, on a daily basis are very powerful and affect your mood and behaviour, so it could help you feel happier, stronger and more in control of your weight loss progress to become aware of any negative things you say or think on a regular basis.

Try this one for starters, instead of 'I am fat' ... from now on this becomes

'I have fat'... immediately followed by 'and I'm in the process of getting rid of it!' :)

So fat is no longer something you 'are' it is something you 'have' ...and soon will not have :D

Do you think that is something that might help you?

Can you think of any negative things you say or think about yourself on a regular basis that you could change?

Hi PortlandPrincess, it's lovely to meet you too :D

Yes indeed, sometimes it can be a simple shift in perspective, thought process or even understanding of something that makes it appear in a whole different light... The best project you could ever work on is you, any aspect of you, not just weight loss.

'If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change' ;)

Thanks for the follow... love all your singing posts!! :D

Well if that is the case, you can correct them by saying, "well actually no I am not, I have fat... and I'm in the process of getting rid of it!' :)
