OMG ! I've just checked my calendar and it's ten weeks today to Christmas Day!!!
So let"s make a pledge together today, 7lbs is our aim, although more would be a bonus for our Christmas stockings.
Everyone is welcome to join, together we can achieve anything. Think of the lovely Christmas Treat we can promise ourselves!
Be a Christmas Cracker, not a Christmas Turkey!!
Log on with your start weight for the challenge, using just one unit of measurement and your goal, if different to 7lbs, then update us every week, telling us your challenge stats.
I shall post a new thread every Sunday and it will be kept in pinned posts. You can post on any day you wish, but my advise is to do so on the same day as your weekly weigh-in, to avoid confusion.
Remember, this is a short term challenge and is not intended to take the place of your regular weekly weigh-in. If you don't already have a regular weigh-in day, then look in Events and get yourself signed up now
Hello everyone, well I'll put my money where my mouth is and be the first to weigh in.
I'm starting today at 13st 2,5lb as of this morning and NEED to lose 7lb before Christmas and WHEN I do I'm going to treat myself to some Clinique Happy perfume.
I would like to accept your challenge 😊. I started doing LCHF a few months ago at 12st13lb but today my starting weight is 11st10lb. I will try to lose the 7lbs but have to think about a treat. My best Christmas treat will be to meet up on FaceTime with our two little granddaughters in America, one aged 3 years and the other one 7 months. Because of Covid we have not had the chance to meet them in person yet 🙁
I'll be here tomorrow after weighing in. I only need to lose 1kg to get my maintainer badge, this will surely make me get there. My treat is going to be a spinner ring. I saw them on the All That Glitters program and fell in love so i'd better get looking as i will definitely be buying one
They're amazing aren't they. Watching the tv show that brought them to my attention showed just how much work goes into making any jewellery but these in particular were astounding to watch being made x
I watched the programme too springersrule …and loved those spinner rings. Goodness those jewellers were so talented. My daughters have hinted they will buy me one for Christmas…I’m hoping wearing one will help when I feel anxious. It’s a bonus that those rings look so pretty!🌼
Its amazing how and what they create isn't it Alideer. A real talent. How wonderful of your daughters to get you one for Christmas, we'll be able to show them off together
The ability to play with the spinning bit appeals for the times i get nervous/anxious too. Their prettiness is certainly a bonus and there's so many styles to choose from, that'll be the hard bit, picking just one lol xx
Hi springersrule, my daughters brought me a spinner ring last Christmas as it helps with my anxiety. They have some lovely ones on "Not on the High Street"
Lytham your timing is impeccable! This is just what I need right now! I have a 10k race in December. I'll post first thing tomorrow morning. Here's to a great challenge 😊
Beaverchild decided that she doesn't want to run much or fast anymore since the weather is colder. And I'm still struggling with my heel spur and have a hard time even walking.
Hello Darlings. Up for 7lbs loss by the time turkey shows up. Have given up alcohol, chocolate and desserts since 12/9/22 and hope this is my way ahead. All the best everyone for the next ten weeks and thanks to Lytham and moreless for organising us. Week one, lets do it!
Thats super Hopalong1 with the alcohol, chocolate and desserts you are already on your way. Looking forward to having you join us on this journey and enjoy that turkey 7lb lighter
Weight above and a treat, maybe a seamstress as I have three too short dresses that are asking to be blouses with a scarf. Otherwise can a girl have too many shoes??? 😊😊
I am going to wear a short dress with tights and pumps. After all I am four stones lighter!!!😊⭐💟♥️⭐😊🎉☀️🐶🎉♥️💟⭐😊(now let's hope I can keep it off til Wobblers because of this shameless bragging) xx
Hi Lytham. Good to see you back with a challenge. Its definitely needed now. I'm in as I've gained 3kg over the summer and I'm struggling to get it off again. It would be great to lose it by Christmas and have some leeway for the Christmas goodies. My start weight is 67.3kg. Im hoping to get my hair highlighted before Christmas so that will be an incentive to stick to it.
Great to have you here Gizmocat and lets make that struggle an easier one with getting that 3kg off before the turkey comes out and have you with wonderful highlights to boot
I'll be weighing in this week Lytham - include me in! Had a very restful holiday, thanks to rain on most days and an unpleasant sinus infection, so have come back from the holiday a few pounds heavier than I last weighed in! I've lost the 2st badge so 7lb off in time for Christmas will be fantastic! I need to get back into watching the meals and snacks again, and exercising! All the things I know about and ignored for a fortnight!
I'm hoping so Hopalong1 , probably time to start making the hearty soups. Anyone got any good recipes for sweet chestnuts? (other than roasting them) - at leeast they're low in fat
Well of course I'm in with bells on, jingle bells Lytham and thanks for getting us back into the Christmas Challenge. I will put my weight in on Wednesday as I've just had a big Sunday Roast Lunch and dont think the walk with the dog did much to shift anything now Will think of what I want too 🎄🤶🔔
Hi Lytham I was just reading through all the challenge posts when I saw you'd mentioned me. I would love to join in the challenge you make it sound really fun. But I'm already below my maintenance weight so I haven't got anything to lose. To be honest I'm feeling left out. I still do my weekly weigh in but I'm finding maintaining a lonely business with only one official weigh in a month. But I'm wishing all the Christmas challenge participants all the best and here's to a slim Christmas. I will be keeping an eye on you all and cheering you on.
Lytham that is so kind. To be honest I am two pounds under my maintenance weight at the moment, this is because I've been feeling rubbish lately not because I wanted to lose two more pounds. So at the moment I weigh 133 pounds but my maintenance weight is 135-137 pounds. I'm keeping it a narrow band so I don't get complaisant. I really don't think I should join in the challenge because that's not what it's about, but if you don't mind I will look in from time to time and offer a bit of encouragement if I can. Thanks again. The people on this forum are amazing.
Hello you lovely ones! I am not great at challenges but another hurdle to cross perhaps? My parents were so very competitive you must get an A not a B; so consequently I gave up. I know I am very good at somethings but often find there is someone better so I have been trying to excel and being me.
My dear Lytham inspired me to join, this is my first one EVER here and my first challenge in a very very long time.
I am 181lb and yes it would be nice to be 7lb lighter by the end of December. I have a few dates away booked not really food but not a great diet and a short weekend break which will involve food.
And I'm booked to go to my son's for 2 days and one night on 18-22nd December which involves LOADS of travelling 3 hours to the airport an overnight an early flight food more food a night food and a flight back and another overnight then a 3 hour drive home but it WILL be worth it.
That is so super great to have you here Scaffie and look forward being there with you at the finish line. Sounds like you are really busy too. Good attitude too with excelling at being you. It will be great to catch up here too as I seem to be missing the Wednesday Wobblers either too early or too late Looking forward to our journey together
Hiya Lytham! Yes, Id love to join the challenge please. I was 9 stone 5 and 1/2lb at Saturday's weigh in, and would like to get to 9 stone again. Thanks for the invite! 😊
hi Lytham thanks for the invite but I’m back on track and actually under my original target weight with the help of Noom so got no weight to loose- though that may change as I get closer to Xmas! Good luck everyone
Hi Lytham (thanks for hosting!), and everyone, I'd love to get down a frock size before Christmas. I'm a sz 18/20 now, depending on the shop/brand. My weight yesterday was 13st 3lbs and ideally, I'd like to be 10lbs lighter in 10 weeks, but I'll stick to the goal of 7lbs, so I'm not putting too much pressure on!
Great to have you here Finding_Fitness and look forward to sharing this challenge with you. Guess you will be getting a nice new dress for Christmas👗and feeling and looking good in it Think if you can do 10lbs in 10 weeks go for it. But good to start with 7lbs.
Thanks jennilou 🤗 I was really disappointed in myself not doing well on your CCI challenge, despite your wonderful support!, so I intend to try a lot harder on this one 😁
I am like you for tops, FF. Yesterday was at a clothes swap and got in a 16. Probably just a flattering cut, but it is my favourite 😂🤣. All the best for the challenge. 😊😊🤞🍀🤞🍀xx
Thanks Lytham. Yes I should join. I have been desmotivated for several months and my weight has increased 😭. I will weight tomorrow to have my starting point!!
Thanks this is a brilliant challenge @Lytham and I want to lose at least 7lb as I want to not count calories in December and see how I rolę ...also want to fit in my size 16 jeans... I am size 18 at the moment but the trousers are getting baggier... 😅🍀🍀🍀🤞🤞🤞
Starting weight 14st
Best of luck to all of us
I have edited my starting weight as when I wrote this wasn't my weigh in day I am so naughty🙈🙉🙊.... Can't wait to see everyone losses all the very best wishes to you all ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great to have you with us Wine and will work on you not counting any calories over the Christmas meal. Sounds like you will be getting new pants soon, super well done
This will be my first challenge. I'm kind of worried that I will lose your post and not be able to find it again. I've been a member for a while, but, I usually lurk. Thanks for hosting this!
If you look just at the bottom of Lythams introduction you'll see a Save button. If you click on that you can then find it repeatedly in Saved Posts (on my chromebook thats underneath my profile picture on the right when i click on My Feed. Alternatively click on pinned posts and scroll down, you'll find it about half way down. xx
Welcome Sewsister61 great to have you with us. I sew as well but not that great but still learning after coming back to it after years and years. You will have to let us know what you end up getting for your sewing room
I knit too Scaffie but am hopeless with sewing up. Used to give it to someone else to finish but my latest jumper for a child I did the neck and am determined to sew it up this time
inside out put the 2 edges together, pin it then using some of your casting on sew over, so it doesn’t looke like sewing machine but it’s over the top, then turn it the other way looks really neat
Thanks for that Scaffie I was out before and thought I might ask how to do it. So will do that tonight and let you know how I go. Poor kid he lives in Australia and by the time he gets it it will be summer but hopefully some colds days will happen. Mmmm who am I kidding but maybe it will still fit in Winter
I used to be a lurker too Sewsister61 …but everyone is so friendly and welcoming I’m glad I began to join in…and here you are too! This challenge is just what we need to encourage us. I will be checking in on Monday’s weigh in so I might see you there.🌼
How super that we have you here on your first challenge. Just follow springersrule instructions and you will find us all the time. Looking forward to sharing this journey with you
Saving this post won't help you to find the challenge next week, Sewsister61, as a new thread will be posted on Sunday, or earlier if this one gets too full. Always remember that all our current threads can be found in Pinned Posts, don't forget to look out for our weigh-in
Hello Lytham …well, as you were kind enough to include me in your invitation how could I refuse? 🤣 What a wonderful idea! My goodness I need to do something about my weight creeping back up again.
I promise I will weigh in on Monday and I will think about my treat in the meantime. Oh, how I would love to fit in my size 16s hanging in my wardrobe! 🌼
Sorry I forgot to weigh in on the challenge yesterday Lytham ! My start weight is 12st 1lb and I’m aiming for 11st 11lb to get my 2 and a half stone badge back in time for Christmas. Any extra loss will be a bonus. Still haven’t decided on my treat. I’m so pleased you are running this challenge…thanks again!🌼
Great to have you here Alideer and will soon have you to your target weight of 11, 11 and lets get some extras losses as well Looking forward to hearing what your treat will be
How can anyone refuse our lovely Lytham . Glad to have you with us and look forward to working our way to the finish line. We will work on getting back into those 16s
Not been on here lately as been involved with our living better in later life group. Introduced chair dance into our chair exercise and raised£130 for Dementia research.
Great you are here SMITHYC and well done on the funding raising. Looking forward to joining you on this challenge and working our way to the finish line
Oh no I can already feel the heat from those radar eyes on me already. Darn means handing my hands behind my back isnt going to work anymore and shoving the chocolate down the side of the couch is going to be found, gee have to think of some more hiding places where the camera cant go🤪
Mmmm actually hubby has the chocolate and I was just using it as an example to hid the fact that I will be hiding the sausage rolls instead, thought I could distract you from what I really like to eat. Gee that didnt work either. Can almost hear those drones flying around✈️
I was out last night so missed it and I didn't know how they'd all got on. Plus, at this stage, there are so many of them, I haven't got to know them and it goes on a bit. Apparently, it's less than 2 hours next Saturday
Ah, that's a shame. I'm sure he'll get around fine when he's at home and it's all familiar. They do just get on with things, don't they? Not like us, worrying about this and that
So pleased you are joining on this wonderful challenge anigoni getting into the 13s is very achieveable. Whats your treat that you would like to pull out of your Christmas stocking
A pedicure sounds good or a new piece of clothing to celebrate the loss, some jewellery. I walk the dog and did think of some fancy colourful wellies for walking in the cold weather and a fancy raincoat. Mmmm still confused
Now the weather is colder and the grass is wet outside I walk the dog in some old big green wellies and when we were away I saw some great ones red and white polka dots and others. So think that might be just the treat
I'm up for this. I'd just like to get back to my goal weight. I was there but I've become more erratic with my eating habits and my husband has been cooking more. I'm sure he thinks he's being helpful (and he is) but he's cooking too much food, my favourite foods and I'm presented with this food that I feel I have to eat. I'm currently 64.5 kg, want to get back to 62 by christmas. About 5lb to get rid of! I bloody love christmas!
Great to have you with us 2stoneup and we will get to that finish line with those pesky pounds left way behind. Know the feeling of when hubby cooks but I do it at home and he is the camp cook and makes massive breakfasts and my problem is that I feel that I have to eat them too
Hi Lytham - great challenge and you can count me in! I’m keeping my head down till Wednesday or Thursday! TBH now the Wednesday Wobblers are no more I get a bit confused as to which is my “normal” weighin day! Anyway, I’m up for this challenge, and 7lb would be absolutely amazing, though I’d be very happy with 5lb. I’ll think of two alternative rewards!
Well, I was trying to ignore it and was hoping tomorrow would tell a different story, but since you ask Lytham , this morning’s scale reading was 12st 4 lb (gulp) - 12 lb more than my best weight in 2021 sadly. (Though still more than half a stone better than my start weight back in the mists of time!) So there it is, in black and white - everything to play for, as they say
Hi Lytham and all the Christmas challengers . Will have to keep this quiet at home yet as we don’t usually mention Christmas till end of October at our house until husband and daughter have had their birthdays , 20th and 28th October. I committed a sin last week by buying two new Christmas ornaments , haven’t heard the last about that!!!!!
Well here I am start weight for this challenge is 10 stone 8 1/2 lbs , not certain how much I want to lose yet but 7 lbs would be brilliant but any amount would be lovely. Not decided on treat at the end of the challenge yet but will get my thinking cap on . Love the poem by moreless and the pic of that puppy is gorgeous.
Thanks once again for spurring us on Lytham and your partners in crime moreless and jennilou . Hope everyone here has a lovely week Sue🪷🪷🪷
Hi Lytham thanks for keeping quiet !! You three make a brilliant team . See you’ve managed to persuade Alideer to join for the first time which is brilliant , well done . Have a lovely week Sue🪷🪷🪷
In this house we talk about it all the time. But no decorations until after my sons birthday decs are down. (20th Nov he'll be 3) but we can't wait until after my husbands birthday. He'll be 40 on 22nd december... Inconsiderate really!
The reference to your inconsiderate husband having his birthday on Dec 22nd made me laugh. My husband has mellowed over the years and even looked at Xmas decorations with me last week whereas my daughter definitely doesn’t want to know until after her birthday so we don’t talk about Xmas when she’s around.
Okay, so I didn't record my weight yesterday, but I've just jumped onto (well, stepped on lightly) the scales and it's still stuck at the same as the week before, so my starting weigh is:
Morning Lytham, as promised i'm here to record my start weight for the challenge. I'm pleased to say i got rid of last weeks gain due to my weekend away so i'm starting at 71kg and i want to lose 1kg to get to my target maintenance weight. Sounds easy but i've been trying to get the last few kg off for a few months now so your challenge has come at the perfect time to really focus my mind and get it done. xx
Awe thanks for popping back with your weight hun and massive well done losing that gain. We'll get rid of that last pesky kilo before the year is out for sure! X
I'm counting on it. I'd love to have it gone for mid november really as i have an appointment with my rheumatologist who got me started on my weight loss journey. He's already been amazed at my progress but it would be fab to go in and say I've done it completely xx
Count me in!! I've put on a lot of weight in recent months. Sickness, inactivity, anxiety... etc etc .. taking a grip now to head down again in time for Christmas.
Starting weight for the challenge 95.3kg
... so my badge is well out out date, boohoo! My overall weightloss start point was 106.7kg, and so my total weightloss now is 11.4kg.
Thanks for hosting this Lytham. Hope all is well with you, and everyone here! xxx
Hi great to have you here Cosmo501 and sorry its been such a difficult time for you over the last few months. But 👍😀we will soon have those crazy kilos off before the Christmas treats are being served up.
I’ll have to think about that. I like the thought of a mini pampering day, as I never seem to prioritise doing nice things like that … hair, mani pedi and some sort of facial maybe!
I was thinking above, I’d love to treat myself to a mini makeover day. Get my hair cut, died, and then manicure and massage. Sounds so luxurious and if I manage to shift some pounds, I’ll be very happy to have a reason to have a treat like that. — I haven’t read above yet.. have you chosen your treat? Hope all is well with you? Xx
I saw that! The spinner ring. Looks fab. I think I would become addicted to spinning it. I’m always trying to spin my normal non-spinning rings… even when I’m not wearing any!?! Strange nervous habit now I think about it 😳 — Have you chosen a particular perfume?
thanks moreless, it’s good to be back here again. I’ve been lurking around, reading, but haven’t been in a position to be too active here daily. I’ve been sad to notice lately numbers seem to be dwindling on quite a few other forums. regular chit chat seems to be really slowing up. Hopefully this forum will remain as chatty as ever! … I’m going to contribute and support as best I can… along side ideally shifting some more pounds hope all is well with you! X
👋 hi lytham. I’m back and I’m in I haven’t been on the forum recently but have still been tracking healthy eating kcal monitoring and weight around 68kg - looking to get to 65 and maintain at that rather than pop back up to 68.
Great to have you back and welcome onboard to the challenge. Well done on keeping on track with your calorie counting and eating healthily. Those crazy ks will be off in time for the Christmas Dinner to be served up
mmm it has to be something spa related for me - last time I did a challenge on here the spas were closed, so my children ran me a bath and rubbed in my face cream 🤪 an actual facial at a parlour is my dream. Will keep this in mind and NOT visit the biscuit tin tonight 🧖🏼♀️ 😍 in fact, I’m so positive I may research somewhere to go and get it booked in as a date to work to 👍🏻 Xx
Hi Zezes-nan welcome on board great to have you here. Could you just let us know you starting weight for this challenge and what you would like to lose or keep it with the 7lbs or 3kg I think which is the same. Also what you like to give yourself as a treat
Good morning! As promised I am here with my start weight for this challenge, I am very much up for this and with not one, but two 10k races in the next 10 weeks, then i should be on track to lose weight!!! I really want to be in the 12's by the end of this challenge.
Here goes: start weight for Christmas Challenge : 13st 7.25lb
The goal is to lose 8lb to take me under 13st for the first time in forever!!!
we got this!!!
My treat for succeeding will be a full body hot stone massage , absolute bliss!
Great goal siggie! My next bracket down is the 12s too, and will be the first time in forever. Let's do this thing! 💪 Best of luck with your 10Ks: your running is so impressive!
Ok ,im back ...read no more ,no peeking 😎 my start weight Easter was 19st 8 lbs 🤫 this morning i weighed in at 15st 6 lb ...hoping for at least another 3 st by next Easter 🤞xx

Everything can be found in Pinned Posts, nanasharp8, this should help healthunlocked.com/weight-l... You just have to click on the title of the post that you want.
Hello Lytham, count me in, I would love to lose 7 Lbs in time for Christmas and I will work on this with renewed gusto. I will do this every Sunday, yesterday's weight was 15S 1/2 Lb. I could not do it yesterday due to not having a phone line at the moment and I have lost the Internet as well, but today my husband has got a thingy so that I can use the Internet but not sure how long it will last, this is a work in progress and I am going with the flow. I will be in touch next Sunday on my usual weigh in day, thank you very much for hosting this challenge, nice one. Take care xx
So very pleased you are with us on this Christmas Challenge Imustdothis and know that you will have those 7lbs off by Christmas. What treat would you like when you cross the finishing line? Nothing more frustrating that not having the internet and phone. Hope that it all works out and you are back online with no problems
Hello jennilou, I would love to take some time out to do a jigsaw puzzle as my treat, I love doing jigsaws and haven't done one in a while. I have a very special jigsaw that my very special friend gave me of Cornwall, that's the one I will do, those 7 Lbs better come off. Take care xxxxx
Hello Lytham, I love mad houses, I feel right at home. As per my reply to jennilou it will be my very special jigsaw of Cornwall for my treat, I will take the time out to do it and it will be a real treat indeed. Take care xxxx
Hi and a wonderful welcome onboard to this Christmas Challenge OneLump22 . Are you going for the 7lbs off or have another aim to lose by Christmas, though as we say any loss is a good loss. Also, do have a treat in mind that you would like when you cross that finishing line?
Never seen this person so will have to have a quick look
I'm going to have to beg out of the group for a while. My plate is getting overfull & I'm having insurance pains, medical bill pains, & employer problems
Wow, what a brilliant achievement so far, congratulations, you must be proud of yourself
It's is a great idea to join in with the Christmas Countdown Challenge, and you're here from the very beginning which is great. The challenges are a great way to stay on track and the camaraderie is a massive bonus.
Many of us have found that being active on the forum has really helped with our weight loss journeys. There are a number of other groups you might be interested in, such as the Daily Diary, where we log what our menu plans are, plus discuss different approaches to weight loss, such as calorie counting, or low carb for example. There's also a weekly weigh in, recipe swapping (Springer's Specials), Fit is Fun, and even a reading group!
They're all listed in the pinned posts I've pasted the link to below, have a look, and join in any that take your fancy. If you hit any problems navigating your way around, just give us a shout.
Hi Hidden that is such a wonderful loss, really well done. Its great to have you onboard and joining us on our Christmas Challenge. What is the treat you would like to have at the end of the challenge?
Lytham What a cute puppy and a lovely poem! I'm still maintaining but I would be happy to lose a couple of lbs over the next 10 weeks as I'd have a bit more leeway over the festive period.
Today's weight 115.8lbs.
Target 113.5lbs
So I'll be cutting down chocolate over the next 10 weeks and aiming to do more steps. Good luck everyone. 🤞
Might buy myself the new kindle Vera book. Am swithering about treating myself to a new kindle with money I have saved from going Alcohol Free. Been looking at Which best deals this morning but their kindle oasis was cheaper last May £169.99 back then. Compared to £179.99 now so won't be getting that today. But may see a better deal on Black Friday. Looks like some of the "deals!" aren't quite as good as they look! Buyer beware.... ⭐🌈
No I get Which magazine and I checked online today so definitely not a best buy. I was watching Stephspackedlunch the other day and camelcamelcamel.com was suggested as a free Amazon price tracker. Worth a look before you buy...👍
I was thinking of getting a new kindle too, its great to take away and play games and read the books and watch prime. Not good though when I should exercising. When you say a Vera book is that the one the series is based on. I like Vera and always thought I should get the books. If you are reading them are they good?
I know what you mean - read or exercise? Yes the latest Vera book just came out called "The Rising Tide" the first was The Crow Trap and I think I've read my way through all except the last one now. The characters in the programme are slightly different these days because actors come and go in theTV series whereas the book characters have mostly stayed the same. So DS Joe Ashworth is still in the books but no sign of DS Aiden Healey who replaced Joe in the TV series. I like the books but I like the TV series too... Can you watch prime videos on a kindle now? Mine must be really ancient then.... no games on it either jennilou 😅 It's just the very first basic one that ever came out I guess....
Oh you have made me interested in getting the books now. I got my kindle a few years ago and it was a fire kindle and yes it has games, internet and prime watching on it and you can order from Amazon prime too. The new ones I guess would have a lot more and better quality. I watched a movie or two when we were away and got the internet and downloaded books too. It is basically a little tablet but there is still the one with just books. My was on special so that's why hubby ordered it. Now I would order one with the same things. But it depends on what you want. If its just books then get that.
Great to have you onboard Clematisa1 and good work on the maintaining and those 2lbs will definitely be gone with maybe a couple more so more leeway to enjoy those Christmas treats. Whats the treat you would like to give yourself when we get the finishing line?
I am looking at ideas for Christmas meal at the moment, a really guilt laden dessert if I've lost a couple of lbs... Suggestions and ideas gratefully accepted.... jennilou 💞
So sorry Clematisa1 I am not really a dessert person being one loving all the trimmings of the main meal, especially the stuffing😀. But I guess the good old pudding with custard sauce or more ice cream comes to mind
I now officially have 6lb to lose before December.
I’m chuffed to bits Lytham inspired me; well twisted my arm half way off really. Jennilou was so kind so many times but I wasn’t ready now I am. I’m 1lb off my 2 stone badge, into the next stone and I don’t think I have done 2lb followed by 1 lb.
I have changed my thoughts about food for the first time EVER. I actually went looking for a single chocolate pudding in the supermarket and DIDNT buy it, why do you need it I asked?
So thank you everyone.
And Wine; blondes don’t always have more fun, but we do try!
The wonderful thing is that you have taken that step and joined us which is great. And better still is that you are 1lb down and only 6 to go. So super well done Scaffie
Morning Lytham and everyone, my start weight for this challenge was 13st 3lbs and today I weigh 13st 1 💃💃💃
Really happy, and can't wait to ditch the 13s!! I can't actually remember the last time I was lighter than 13st (and even then, I'll still have 3st to shift to be healthy), but I'm sooo close now... just have to make sure I don'tpanic, that I'm doing well, and self-sabotage!
I know the feeling Finding_Fitness you think I am on a roll here and suddenly its like too good to be true so will sneak that treat. But we will do this together and hold on tight when we think we are going to falter
Weight today 11st 6.4lb. A holiday increase hopefully but I'd like to lose 7lb by Christmas. That would put me in the 10s (just) for the first time in about 40 years (ROFL). So I know what I should be doing - cutting out those lovely snacks that have crept in, upping my exercise (already made a start) and keeping fluid levels up.
I've found some abandoned needlework from way back when so my reward will be a "new" skirt and top in time for Xmas! All the best to everyone for the week coming!
Really great to have you here docmar and looks like you and me are the same so we will work together to get back into those 10s. They have been avoiding me for years to but we are going to catch them up and tell them they cant runaway again
that's great - I'll be cheering you on! And you can nag me (I mean encourage me) to give up the snacks that keep creeping back in and to maximise my exercise!
Well I am so pleased to be here and thanks Lytham for putting up this challenge. I need these challenges to help spur me on to lose weight.
My start off weight for this challenge.
11st 6lbs. I want to lose that 7lbs which I managed to do on the first challenge I joined with you Lytham so determined to make it work again. And I am so excited that I will be into those 10s again after so many long years
Treat, so many things at first and then thought I would love a pair of colourful wellies and a bright yellow or blue raincoat when I walk the dog. Good luck eveyone and looking forward to being on this journey with you
Yep, I can just see us walking those lovely pooches in matching coats and our sunnies on with our fashionable wellies and raincoats🧥🥼👢 How fabulous, think we are already trend setters
Hi Latham, I’m hoping to get some inspiration to help me get back on track after some months away. I’ve put 7lbs on since I last weighed so I definitely want to loose that plus a bit more. Wish me luck !
Oh super Maxiemum so pleased you came over to join us and we will soon have you back on the road and cheering you and the rest of us to the finish line
Good evening Lytham and jennilou I've decided to change my treat if I smash this challenge. I don't actually need a new frock, coz I've got stax of stuff in my wardrobe, that I've not worn yet [bought to slim down into], or that I haven't worn for years [so will feel new when it fits again! 😅].
BUT what I'd really like is new pyjamas and a snuggly dressing gown. I've not had new pjs since 2018 😲 So, as well as them having seen better days, I'd love to get something in a smaller size!
Yes, me too, infact the window cleaner was late yesterday so by the time he came I'd done all my jobs, had my bath and was wearing my big pink fluffy dressing gown! Ooops! X lol
yeah I've been having a happy, online browse at whats around.. I've seen lots of warm-looking "plaid pants & long sleeved top" pjs (which I'd love to get in a smaller size than XL!) And there's a few cosy robes I like. I'd love to be able to get M/L and it not look like I'm preggo! 😂
is this for this year or next? People have been getting earlier and earlier celebrating Christmass I think that they get around one month earlier each year people who want to celebrate so much earlier must want next year's christmass this year as they celebrated this year's christmass in January.
I believe that we should return to the past when we celebrated it for 12 days starting midnight on the 24th back when myself and my ex partner were together with young children around 35 years ago waited untill we returned from midnight Mass would decorate the tree and put the presents around the bottom then on the 12th night would put away everything ready for the next christmass I would always return the lights to the box wound around the pegs in the box then test that they still worked correctly and if not I would order new ones within the first few months as they cost less than ½ the cost then put it all away in the loft until next Christmass.
Hello nice to see you again. It's for this year hun lol ! I need all the time i can get to lose half a stone, what's your start weigh and what will you treat yourself to? X
I agree entirely about Christmas celebrations being ridiculously extended. But, in the case of a weight loss challenge and giving a bit of focus, it does need a few weeks
I agree with you in one way, yes Christmas and the celebration should be starting 24th December or how it was in Germany at the 1st advent with the 4 candles and the backing and craftwork for presents with the kids.
But the other preparation can't start early enough. I think FlyLady with her home and life tidy up program has also already started her holiday planning and cleaning program that the holidays are less stressful and easy with everything in place and ready.
And I love to have a challenge now and then, that makes all the boring calorie counting (NHS program or avoiding carbs (lchf) fun and with tiny archivable goals weight loss is much easier.
How bad would it be, when one gets up at Christmas Even and notice that the wardrobe for Christmas isn't fitting anymore.
Hi Lytham, thanks for setting up the challenge! I would love to join in!
My starting weight is 72.4kg and my target is to lose 2.4kg before Christmas (so get into the 60s!). If I make it I will splash out and treat myself to a haircut at a proper hair salon!
A big welcome onboard Sheepfan glad to have you join us. Lets no talk if lets talk when you lose that 2.4kg you will be looking super in your new haircut at a proper hair salon
Great to have you here and big welcome onboard HazelP17 . That is fantastic that the old raincoat is too loose now so a new raincoat for the bike sounds just great. I am getting myself a new raincoat for walking the dog
Thanks Lytham, I'm just back from a lovely holiday on Greece and have put on 3lbs so I want to lose 10lbs but will be happy with 7lbs. See you all next week.
Hey, good to have you with us ! 3lb doesn't sound a lot after a holiday, I can put that on after a night out! Lol We will see those 12s for Christmas hun, what will your treat be when you do? X
Great to have you with us. Hope that your holiday was a wonderful and warm one. 3lbs after eating and drinking lovely cuisine is not much from a holiday. You will have that off with others by the time we reach the finishing line
Welcome onboard Pict123 great to have you with us. Just read your treat and it sounds great, will be wonderful to sit and relax while painting those landscapes or do you paint other things? I am the typical stick figure, drawings that is
Hi Lytham, thank you for the mention in another post (which appears closed for replies). Thank you also for the encouragement too because I’ve really gone to pot (belly) recently, so much so that I dread getting on the scales again and having to acknowledge the damage. But I WILL do tomorrow morning and join you in week 2. No need to reply to this, I can see you have HUNDREDS of msgs! Xx
Just thinking about it and I would put on your weight now then you've joined right at the start and you could be reporting your first loss next Sunday? X
Lovely of you to mention me and well timed. I haven’t been on the site for a while and only today I decided to start counting calories again. I would like to lose 7lbs and any more would be a bonus. I set my maintenance weight simply to stay in the 9s. I’m now at the upper end of that which is why I decided today to start counting calories again. Time to focus again. Biscuits are my downfall and I’ve already decided to stop buying my favourites. Other than that I have learned some good habits which have helped to keep my weight down. Thank you for the invitation.
