Thank you Lucca...you're a star for the challenge of a 45 K week. Did I make it...nah, got to about 40 k but it was wonderfully sunny and I really enjoyed being outside.....
And...I think it must have been the exercise.....I have burnt off another TWO pounds of unwanted energy...never to return and gone for good!
Thank you my forum buddies for all your support, it's wonderful being on this forum...love it ....and I truly believe this is the reason I have shed twelve pounds in five weeks...
Oh and sorry for the ear worm...Dah da da da....oh I will walk five hundred miles....

Well done Portlandprincess, you are making fantastic progress on your journey. Thank you for the song of the day, another one to be humming along to all day!
Yep....the DJ in my head is very insistent that I share all earworms....
Ta da la da - Ta da la da....
Oh - at last - a song I like (husband is Scottish, so can't help but like it !)
Always reminds me of an episode of 'That Puppet Game Show' where the contestants had to squeeze some muppet bbq sausages with the tongs in the right order to sing the song properly (clearly if you didn't ever watch, you have no idea of how funny it was )
Anyway, back to the real world outside my head ... 40k is brilliant !! And it obviously worked a treat with a 2lb loss this week - you've done great to great rid of 12lbs in just 5 weeks
Oh Gonti - if only I had the imagination to come up with something as rib-achingly funny as the 'Proclaimer sausages' - the whole thing on TV was even funnier, at the end when they finally got it right, they all danced around, wildly excited ! (I am really still just a small child inside... I appreciate not everyone will view singing sausages in the same way !)
First target - you tube the puppet game show....40 K is a good challenge for me and a pound shed is my aim don't want to rush it.....like my food too much!
Yes the weather has been lovely of late. I am doing okay, thanks PP. Got a home visit next Friday from social workers of a little boy and the social workers of a little girl think we are fantastic match so hopefully they will also want to do a home visit. Fingers crossed. Trying not to get too excited. Walking off the stress of waiting and not knowing what's next. And coming onto the forums as much as I can - it helps loads
Had a really surreal circuit class tonight, we did it to the background music of Disney!! Did think of you and all the ear worms lol ' I wanna be like you ooh ooh, I wanna walk like you, talk you, ooh ooh ooh 'can't think of any more lol
40KM IS EPIC ! ! ! Forget about moving to lose weight - thats just a happy by product. I bet you are feeling completely different in yourself, in your physical abilities and the way you connect with the rest of the world since the beginning of your journey! Oh, and you might have lost some weight as well!
If you had a device for measuring all the beneficial blood levels and hormones you'd really start to see the impact of what you've done - but I reckon you just know!
I've had a busy week or so - started a Mindfulness course - its only 2 hours a week but its 130 miles from home and takes a big chunk of the week up, then both family cars broke down within a couple of days of each other. One terminally - so that meant time and attention devoted to car replacement, then disposal. All of this and a part time business trundling away in between. Only managed one bike ride but it was mega! No running and a lot of disruption to healthy eating. Still lost a bit of weight! Felt I'd cheated the system! But its more about the new habits 12 weeks program builds.
Back to more normality this week exercise, eating & Focus back on track.
Really glad you found the book useful - I use it a lot in all sorts of contexts.
What I'm doing now is focussing much more on my stress levels and being a lot more honest about them. Seems I've got a whole load of avoidance behaviours set up, but I'm responding to them without eating or drinking them to one side.
Interesting times. (In a good way, not a Terry Pratchet way!)
Hi Andrew...love to do some mindfulness courses. I did a three day coaching course a few years ago. Really useful in so many contexts. Coaching as related to mentoring....not football or life...
Bad luck about your cars. Takes up so much time. My dad always says a cars there to get you from a to b ...if it doesn't do that get rid. Not a classic car fan! I was for a while...did last cos of the a to b thing.
Hope you get a mega bike ride in during this heat wave!
Amazing PP! That's an epic amount of walking. I think your consistently positive attitude must help too. Or maybe its the other way round, the walking helps you feel positive... Either way not long til that first stone is completely banished π πΆβ¨
Yep, all good, am running well, and have a few jobs on this week, so some money coming in too. Possibly starting a more fixed sort of job next week, but fingers crossed on that, I'll believe it when it happens. Sunshine definitely helps everything feel better doesn't it
Hi Daves boy...hope all is well with you and your friend. Thinking of you both at this difficult time. Are you still managing to get a bit of time for you? How's the fit fit?
