Well done on taking the first step, and welcome to the forum. I decided to follow the NHS 12 week plan on the 30th March, 16 weeks ago and so far I've lost just over 2 stone.
I printed off the weekly grid at the beginning of every week and each day I noted everything I ate and the calorific value making sure I didn't exceed my allowance. I tried, whenever possible, to plan my meals.
Personally I found it easier by not telling anyone what I was doing, my husband knew and there were a few issues during the first couple of weeks with him eating chocolate, crisps etc. he even bought me an Easter egg! But I was determined nothing would deter me and eventually he got the message and became very supportive, and now he can see how much my shape has changed he seems to be very proud of what I have achieved.
Try not to expect too much too soon, although you may have a good weight loss for the first few weeks it may well slow down, don't get despondent, resolve to be in this for the long haul, it may well be you wont lose weight one week, just stick to the plan and you will see results.
I found the evening time after dinner the most difficult part of the day, but now after advice from somebody on this site, I started knitting and I just don't have time to snack. I also found it very helpful to log onto this forum at least once a day usually evenings to read all the posts. This is a great place to get help and advice, there are some truly inspirational people here, there's always support and encouragement when it's needed, I have received some really helpful tips, e.g. knitting and I look forward to reading all the news.
I wish you well with your healthy eating plan and look forward to reading your success story in the coming weeks.
Good Luck.
