Hi there! I'm Cookie, been big my whole life, but after uni (only six months of it) I put on 2 stone. I'm 5 foot 4, 14 stone and a size 14, clinically obese. For the past 2 months I've been going to the gym 3-4 times a week and practising for a 10k and I have a pretty active job as a cleaner. My diet used to consist of just pizza and junk food, now consists of fruit, veg, nuts and other healthy things (no meat or dairy) and a minimum of 2 litres of water and green tea. But I haven't lost any weight, in fact I put on 5 pounds. I really need some help or advice, I don't know what to do Please help

Hi cookie 😄 well done in changing your diet. Do you calorie count everything u eat. Sometime I get a right shock on the calories in nuts and certain "healthy good " good luck x
Hi. I think that MyFitnessPal might be just right for you. I have found it brilliant for integrating a brand new gym habit with improving eating patterns. I would also suggest that you ask the GP to check that your thyroid levels are normal
Having in excess of 2 litres of water/green tea seems a lot to me. Remember you also take in water with your "solid" food too (think about the juicy fruit and vegetables you are having).
Nuts are highly calorific. If the fruit you are eating includes dried fruit (like raisins, sultanas, figs) they too are high in calories because they are more concentrated weight for weight compared with the natural fruit.
By the way, I'm surprised you weigh as much as 14 stone if you are a size 14 (even an American size 14).
What does the tape measure tell you about your waist? Are you losing inches because you are losing fat but developing muscle is lessening the weight drop/increasing weight gain?
