hi - help. the evening meals / snack is where I always fail. any tips?
I take 2-3 hours one day a week and cook 4-6 healthy meals for our family and store them in air-tight containers in the fridge or freezer depending on the meal and when we will eat it. Then in the evening I know that a home-cooked healthy meal will take only 5-10 minutes to warm up. If necessary I can add some quick fresh veg to it (e.g. make a healthy pasta dish then serve with either some frozen peas or a quick salad if I have the time.
Knowing the food is there, healthy and ready has made a huge difference for me!
I bought a popcorn maker for about £20 for my kids a while back. I love a snack in the evenings and a cup of air popped popcorn is only 30 calories. It shoots all over the kitchen though.
That's so funny. A popcorn machine is a fab idea! Entertaining and low cal, and maybe calorie burning too, chasing after all the rogue popcorns flying around
I snack on carrots, celery, radishes, beetroot etc, they are all filling and really low calorie. And sometimes lightly salted popcorn too! A good suggestion from EWTTW above - and you could use Cook & Count app to see calorie, carb, fat etc amounts which will really help with calorie awareness. Good luck!
