I've lost another pound! It's a slow and steady walk to my goal but I am getting there. My one lapse last week was a slice of carrot cake (my favourite) in Marks & Sparks café. NEVER AGAIN! I found out later that it is 825 calories a slice! YIKES! :( It was my husband's fault as he made me do it!

Thank you! I shall be extra careful that the carrot cake doesn't creep up on me again. The chocolate one did look yummy though..........

Haha, they all look yummy to me! I'm sure they're all as calorific as each other tho... Best way for me is to just stay away! Helps that I can't have gluten, the upset tummy is a good deterent..! 🌸

Fantastic well done, all these 1lbs add up. Gosh the calories in the carrot cake- I like carrot cake but think I will be staying clear from it from now on. Good luck with this week 😀

I am finding it a bit difficult today and I think it must have been that carrot cake reminding me how I love my naughty treats. Avoid it at all costs! Bet I won't lose anything next week and I'll protest to M&S if I put weight on. There café should have a health warning displayed. :0

Some days are more difficult than others for some reason. If I find I'm wanting something sweet I have the highlights hot chocolate drink only 40 calories. Yesterday I had some fresh pineapple that was nice too. The important thing is to try not to feel as if you are not missing out, trying out different things to eat. You really have done so well- you can get that weight loss next week. 😀

Well done for losing more weight. That's a lot of calories in a slice of carrot cake, now you've alerted us all to the danger M & S will have a major slump in sales...oh dear what a shame! Keep up the good work.

Well done on you lb loss :)

I have noticed that cakes in places like M&S, Costa, Starbucks etc are usually on the luxurious side, really yummy but not so good on the calories!

Milka do a good milk chocolate which is only 88kcal for 4 creamy squares, if you're good at rationing yourself.

Congrats on losing that 1ib every loss is something to celebrate... Everyone gets tempted and a treat now and then keeps us all happy as long as it's in moderation. Also if we give ourselves treats now and then we're not depriving ourselves and we are less likely to splurge and fail. But WOW I had no idea there was so many calories in that..... Thank goodness I'm not so fond as cake. My downfall is crisps lol. Good luck on your journey to losing weight x

Thank you. I don't do moderation! Think that carrot cake has started me off again on chocolate. Will have to control it as had a bad day yesterday. Lots of stress today too so must find some willpower. Wishing you well too. x

I have just come on your web site and would love to know what diet you are on as I need to lose 3 stone at least but have a low thyroid and my doc says I won't be able to lose weight. (I would like to show him I can). Well done on your loss.

Welcome rumpie. It's all about getting control back of your eating habits. We all know healthy foods are good and chocolate, etc are rubbish but it's such a hard battle on your own. The forum and keeping an eye on my calories with myfitnesspal keeps me focused. Stay in touch and read the posts daily.
