Hi Jenny!

Welcome to the forum, you are in good company here with lots of people who understand the struggles of weight loss and the many effects it can have on your body and mind. Everyone is so supportive and full of useful advice!

The NHS plan is a great place to start. I'd also recommend downloading a calorie counting app such as my fitness pal to keep track of what you're eating.

Do you mean a feelings diary or a food one? The app I mentioned is great for keeping a food diary. I also post on here quite alot sharing my highs and lows or if I have questions, I find writing it all and telling others really helps me order my thoughts and understand how I'm feeling, so I'm sure keeping a diary could work for you in this way too.

You are not alone and you have taken a massive step in deciding to make a change. You can do anything you set your mind to!

I wish you the best of luck and look forward to hearing how you get on 🌸

Yes I agree, it's all part of learning to love and take care of yourself. I'm on my 4th week of the plan and am starting to feel better already. Even just knowing that I am doing something about my weight and getting some control back has helped alot! There are hard days but it will always get better! Have you been to the doctor and talked to someone about the depression? 🌸

Iv spoke to the doctor yes but feel it's time to go back as I need to feel better in myself as I need to stop feeling like this

Having some professional support sounds like a good idea. Life can be hard and we sometimes need a bit of help to learn things about ourselves and to be taught tools and strategies for overcoming the tough times. You will get there hun! Like I said, you've already taken a massive step in deciding to take action! 🌸

Hi Jenny2474,

Welcome to the community. Here's a link to the NHS weight loss pages if you haven't already seen them - there's a 12 week structured plan with lots of good advice and information. It's really good.

Here is the link:

Good luck with your weight loss goals. Regarding your question about keeping a diary - I think it is really helpful to record food and drink intake, as it keeps track of daily calories. Anna's suggestion to use Myfitnesspal is really good - it's such a useful application. Keeps track of things for you, and you can print out diaries if you want to.

Wishing you a great week.

Lowcal :-)

Hi Jenny, welcome to the group, you will get help, support and encouragement. I am on week 3 of the Nhs weight loss programme , I also use the my fitness app which helps me plan my meals and keep an eye on the calories. getting back in control feels good and helps with self esteem.

Good luck with your weight loss take a day at a time & see it as healthy eating rather than a diet.

Hi Angel

I'm in the same bout as you, i need to loose weight and my mood is very low, which makes you not want to do anythinng because you're depressed and it is a downward spiral!

I'd love to be your lifestyle buddy and we can do all we can to keep each other happier and in beibng happier get healthier and as a result our families will be happier seing we are feeling better and stop worying about us and nagging us!

How does that sound? I'm sick of sitting crying at 2 raindrops running down the window like a daft blubbering wreck!!

I don't believe in god but i'm a big believer in angels, my room is full of them in varying styles and i make angel charms to give to people, if for some reason i can't send the angel, she stays with me for ever on my light up cherry tree and i sent this special poem, which i also send to people in need of comfort and support and i'm sending it to you

When angels sense you need them

And angels always do

They come unseen from everywhere

To help and comfort you

They hover close beside you

Till all your fears are gone

Till they can see you're ready

Once again to carry on

Then some of them fly away

And take their gentle touch

To other hearts who need the love

Of angels very much.

But one at least stays with you

As your constant friend and guide,

As Guardian angels never leave you

They are always by your side!!!

Print it out and put it where you'l get most comfort from it, and next time you're on amazon or passing a mystic shop buy an amethyst angel, keep her in your pocket and when you feel you need her healing comfort hold her in yout hand and give her a rub.

Don't llet anyone else touch her ance you start using her as she'll form a bind with you and it'll break it, but if it does happen just wash her in boiled water and put her on the windowsill in the moonnlight overnight and start again and she'll be fine to bond again.

I know it sounds daft but i've told lots of people on here to get them and noone has said she hasn't helped them, my hubby didn't believe but afer a few strange happenings and tghe odd ornament moving that he couldn't explain, he changed his mind!!

Good luck angel, take care, gentle hugs and angel blessings to you and you lovely family XXX0XXX
