Yes, you can! We are all doing it. Have a look at the Welcome Newbies post under Pinned Posts and see a collection of advice on getting started. Perhaps also check out the C25K forum and see how people there transform from exercise phoebes to runners! All kinds of people, I might add! Do it, I promise it is a life changer♥️🏃
Totally agree with PippiRuns about C25K it is a life changer when I started a few years back I was on a US forum for C25K and there were people out doing it who had far more weight to lose than most people who post on this forum. Keep posting and make sure you weigh-in on a Monday it will help you with accountability.
Hi and welcome Bev50
Take a look at the Pinned Posts section, to the right of your screen (bottom, if you're using a mobile) and have a look at the Welcome Newbies thread, it has a link to the NHS 12 week plan, which is a guide to healthy living, rather that a specific diet plan.
Consider joining any, or all, of our challenges, as they're fun and motivating.
Join us for the monday group weigh-in. If you follow Zest , you'll be notified when she posts the thread. However, the latest thread can always be found in the events section, to the right of the home page.
Be active on the forum, as that's where we exchange ideas and get our daily dose of motivation and inspiration
Wishing you all the very best
of course you can, Bev50. My journey is a slow one but I am on my journey. There's so much help on here you are never alone. I am close to losing my first stone, and have 4 1/2 stone to lose at least. The main thing is don't let it stop you from living your life. I ve checked my BMI and write my calories down, and try to stay in my allowance, but if I want a treat I have one. Once you start you will find even with the off treat you will be consuming less calories than before so the weight will come off. Good luck, you re one of us now, and we are winners😊
Hi loser Bev50
Don't worry. 2-3 stone sounds a huge amount to some but to others it's a small amount. It is all relative to the individual. I was over 25st so my loss seemed impossible but 150lbs later I'm learning that it is possible. Break your weight loss down into little chunks rather than the whole picture. Lots of little victories along the way is better than one big one. If you are able then try and do some exercise. Exercise is not the be all and end all of weight loss but it does help shift extra weight.
Simple things like park the car at the opposite end of the shopping centre so you have to walk, take stairs instead of lifts, anything that gets you moving. Muscles burn more calories than anything else so use them to burn off the fat.
Good luck. Expect bad weeks along with amazingly good weeks and before long you'll be a loser like the rest of us losers. Losers of weight. Losers of mental baggage. Losers of bad feelings.
