Weighed myself and 16 stone 5 lbs. When I got married in May 2012 I was less than 14 and a half stone. I now have a young son and life is hectic and lots goign on, lots of stress etc...comfort eating galore. A chocoholic and struggling to give up sugary / fatty foods.

today is the start of the road back to 14 and a half stone

Thanks for reading

Welcome, I hope you find what you need in this community. Start by dowloading an app on your phone to keep track of calories (Fat Secret, My Fitness Pal...), it's a great aid! Good luck!

Hi Lawless82,

Welcome to the site, and hope you enjoy your weight loss journey. The NHS weight loss pages are really good - there's a great 12 week structured plan. Have you seen it? There's some good advice and information there.

People in this community are really helpful and supportive, and hopefully you'll find lots of support to keep you motivated and focused.

Wishing you a great week.

Lowcal :-)

Hi Lowcal, I am looking forward to eating healthier and exercising more. I used to feel so much better physically and mentally when eating better and at a healthy weight. I've downloaded the 12 week program to help

How is your plan going?

Hi Lawless82,

Glad you've downloaded the 12 week programme - I think it's really good. Hopefully you'll find it helpful too. Good luck with it.

I've had a good week this week - lost 1.2 pounds. I gained last week though (due to Easter temptations) - even though I had a plan to cope with Easter, I didn't manage to stick to it, but I think having a plan helped me to eat less than I would have done in previous years, so that was good!

I am currently trying to lose my final stone - I'm 13 stone 4.4 pounds today, and would like to be 12 stone 7 pounds. A few years ago I weighed 18 stone 8 pounds, and I've been losing gradually. My BMI is in the healthy range now, but I'd like to get to 12 stone 7 pounds as that would be towards the middle of the healthy BMI range. I'm 6 feet 1 inch tall. I use the 'new BMI' calculator - as it seems better for taller people. I'm finding it challenging trying to lose this final stone, but I'm just keeping going. I feel much fitter and healthier which is good.

Good luck with your first week.

Lowcal :-)
