I've been a yoyo dieter for the past 10 years.

A desk bound job and a very sedentary life style have put me at 5 stone (32kg) overweight for my height.

I've started the Couch25k program for fitness and the NHS weight loss plan to lose weight. I aim to get to my target weight by my 50th birthday in April 2016.

Hi :-) You've done the right thing in joining this group - the people are lovely and v supportive. i just joined last week and have lost 6 lbs already and have lots more energy since starting eat more healthily. I have been a yo-yo dieter in the past but am seeing this as a lifestyle change as opposed to a diet so that I will maintain my target weight. I have at least 6 stone to lose and also want to be healthier and trimmer for my 50th birthday - but mine is in Nov! Good luck - it all starts here.... :-)

Welcome, I hope you find what you need in this community. Start by dowloading an app on your phone to keep track of calories (Fat Secret, My Fitness Pal...), it's a great aid! Good luck!

you have come to the right place for support. Good luck with your weight loss. If you want something bad enough you will do it.

Hi and welcome to the community! Everyone on here is lovely and supportive and we all share great advice. I am on week 3 of the plan and wouldn't be without them! Sounds like you are on the right track, the NHS materials are really excellent! I also use the my fitness pal app to count calories, makes it so much easier to keep track!

Best of luck, and looking forward to hearing how you get on! 🌼

Hi Kasmcc, welcome to the forum. I only joined yesterday but have found loads of support here. I have to lose 20 kg to reach my target weight and I too aim to do it by my birthday which is in August. Good luck.

Hi

Like you I have 5 stone to lose and my birthday was on Tuesday. I am determined to be a lot lighter by this time next year. I have a desk job so will now have to make a huge effort to exercise. I am just so exhausted when I get home from work but that is down to being so overweight. Good luck to us and everyone on this journey.
