What does everyone eat on a daily basis?
I always have 5 fiber biscuits with non-fat cottage cheese for breakfast and I always have a snack in the morning and another one in the afternoon (fruit/ juice/ rice cakes/ 4 fiber biscuits/ wholewheat toast with olive oil...). For lunch/dinner these are my options: a salmon/ham sandwich, an avocado with olive oil, a cup of baked beans, a poached egg with ham on toast, 6 salmon sushi and 6 avocado maki rolls, pasta with vegetables, rice with vegetables, grilled red meat, soup, roasted chicken with no skin... If I go out I allow myself to drink two beers. I try not to go over my caloric allowance. I never have dessert, sweets or chocolate.
Once a week I have diet shakes for lunch, snack and dinner.
I know my food choices are not the classic "diet" choices, but I don't cook and although I have little interest in food, I hate feeling hungry.
Hey it normally varies depending on what i fancy or if im working etc but a day off for me would be roughly:
2 slices of wholemeal toast with marmite and a bottle of actimel or a banana and a bottle of actimel
6 inch subway with quavers or a homemade sandwich or salad depending on what i fancy, at work i normally take a salad box and have it with john west tuna infused with chilli and garlic, really nice
Dinner Cous cous, salad and some sort of meat and veg like chicken marinated cooked with onions and peppers
Throughout the day i have clementines and maybe marshmallows for a snack, drink plenty of flavoured water although while im out i may have a soft drink but its normally coke zero or pepsi max. Its all about about finding what you like and what keeps you feeling full and satisfied, my latest craze is cauliflower and broccoli in the blender so its roughly rice size then boil with a veg stock cube or herbs and spices to be eaten with a meal instead of rice, really filling and yummy
Hi Hannah4365,
For breakfast I usually have Porridge with some nuts and seeds, and a sprinkling of fresh blueberries and some soya milk. That keeps me full till lunchtime. Today for lunch I had homemade tomato and lentil soup with 2 wholemeal toast and a scraping of peanut butter on them. Then I had a Greek plain yoghurt with some fresh blueberries on it. For dinner tonight, I'm planning to have a baked salmon steak, with some fresh vegetables (red onion, pepper, mushrooms and broccoli) all baked in the oven with some olive oil, and a small jacket potato with a small amount of butter and spicy cheese in it. I usually have a snack in the mid afternoon, where I have some Banana Bran Fruit cake (made from the recipe in the NHS weight loss pages) - but I can't have one today as I've run out of it! I need to make another one.
LIke Fibronfedup, I also use an app to keep track of the calories. I am not keeping to restricted calories though, as I typically eat about 2,200 per day - but I do quite a bit of exercise most days. I use Myfitnesspal, which is really good.
Basically I try to have some protein, complex carbohydrate, and fat within each meal, and I try to have plenty of vegetables and some fruit each day. I try to eat high fibre foods wherever possible and try to avoid processed foods as much as I can. I also try to keep my sugar and salt intake down as much as possible.
Hope your week is going well.
