Hi! I started off in January at 12 stone 6 pounds. Just weighed myself and now 11stone 12. I am doing an exercise DVD every other night. Walking to work and eating about 1500 cals a day. I find it so difficult to not snack. I'm 5 foot one and 21. It seems since I started exercising the weight isn't budging!
Any help appreciated! X

I know it can be very frustrating when weight loss feels slow but it is the best way to lose it to ensure that you will keep it off long term. There are so many other benefits to making exercise a habit too si it's really worth it. I bet you've lost inches as well rather than just weight. Scales don't tell the ill story.
Keep up the great work, if you keep going at this pace you could lose 2 stone by the end of the year. You've done really well to motivate yourself to exercise in winter. With more daylight and better weather maybe mix it up a bit with outdoor exercise? running, cycling etc. Good luck!
If you are that weight you have done really well so far but you won't need 1500 calories a day now. You should be on about 1200 per day. But make sure you eat the full 1200 and make your meals filling rather than very light foods like fruit. You do need some carbs to help fill you up to help you stop snacking. Try going back to the beginning in the site and 're entering your details, using the one that tells you how much you need to eat to lose. I found that really helpful. I hope you do too. Good luck and keep up the good work
Have you calculated your TDEE? thefastdiet.co.uk/how-many-... If I ate 1500 calories a day I'd put on weight. I log everything on MyFitnessPal and I don't eat back the exercise calories I burn. I lost my three stone in six months on the 5:2 Diet so I ate under 500 calories two non-consecutive days a week and stayed under my TDEE on the other days.
You say 'about' 1500 cals so I'm assuming you're not using My Fitness Pal or anything else to track your calories correctly ?
If you're not using it then please do try it. It's really good for showing what foods are loaded with calories. It will also give you a daily calorie allowance and it's usually less than 1500 cals.
Other things that can cause problems with weight loss.... Not drinking enough, too much salty food, too many carbs etc
Also you don't tell us how heavy you are. If you don't have that much weight to lose then you're not going to lose pounds week after week.
Well done with the exercising too! I'm sure with a few tweaks here and there , you will lose more weight.
But you ARE losing, thats the main thing. But its probably a bit slower for you on 1500 calories as the amount your body needs just to maintain (or lose) depends on height, age etc. Check an " Online TDEE Calculator" then input your height, age etc to find out how many calories you need to both maintain and lose weight.
As other friends on here are saying, you probably need to reduce to 1200. But anything less than your TDEE level will eventually show a drop in weight over a much longer time. It took me 8 months to lose 2st.
First of all congratulation on doing everything I should be, I bought a DVD managed it twice in 3months take some measurement as you could be getting slimmer but building muscles which can weigh more.. Plus the slower you lose the less likely you will be to put it back on, not!! Look at the positives, your losing weight good luck x
I lost 6lb the first 5 weeks then stuck. So fed up. Even started slimming world as getting nowhere after 9 weeks. I always walked a mile a day. Have not managed to fit in exercise most weeks. Still not giving up . There must be a way. bmi is 30
Hi I also started in January at 12 st 6, also only 5ft 3 weighed in to day at 11 13 only exercise I do is walking... but I am not far of 60 ! so I think you are doing well, Always very hard in the winter to loose weight. You see when the weather better and eating more salads etc..youll soon loose remember its a marathon not a sprint
Very frustrating I know ! Try joining a Zumba class or something along the cardio route it's fun and you loose weight too ! Don't get disheartened you are doing well !
