Cheering up! I'm having a bad day! Feeling poorly after straining myself helping an elderly neighbour move their fridge freezer, getting soaked twice already today feeding sheep, bottling lambs ( nearly all the sheep are giving birth to triplets! ) and I'm starving!! Oh the joys of being a farmers wife! My willpower is depleted and I probably won't get to bed before midnight!! Ok moan over! Ha ha at least writing this post is keeping me out of the kitchen! Goodness knows what's for tea! π but I'll be good! π

Hi Jesterpuss1,
Oh dear, that sounds like a tough day! You've been soaked, suffered a sprain from helping your elderly neighbour, and shifting a cold fridge freezer sounds horrific after a soaking. Those lambs will love you for feeding them, and your elderly neighbour will appreciate your help no end. But you are starving, and I think you should look to something nice to eat for your tea - something healthy and sustaining and I bet you could do with a nice cup of tea for starters! Wish I could boil the kettle whilst you put your feet up - but hopefully you can put your feet up for a bit, and really hope you will recover from the sprain really soon.
Hope you can do some nice comforting things this evening, whilst keeping dry and warm and cosy.
Have a read through our Monday group weigh-in posts, there are some warming posts there, and some great achievements today as well.
Wishing you a good evening, and hope the next few days are better for you!
Lowcal
Hi Lowcal, as always you know just how to cheer me up! Hmmm... yes the neighbour did appreciate my help and I managed not to hobble out of the door so he wouldn't feel bad for me hurting myself! The lambs are warm and sleepy after their milk ( for now! ) My poor husband is out there now fighting the elements! So I'll have that cuppa now and have a read through the weigh in posts. So many more people joining which is great! And I'll make a healthy hearty meal for us before we start the " next shift". Thanks for your reply π
Oh Jesterpuss, that sounds like the day from hell, but in reality, I'd love to be helping bottle feed the lambs, even in the pouring rain. I'd happily cook tea for you as well! Any chance you live just down the road from me?
Chin up, it could have been worse, the lambs could all have been singles!
Hi moreless yep not a good day so far! I actually do enjoy bottle feeding, but there are getting so many!! They're with their mum's at the mo but they don't have enough milk for three! So at some stage soon one out of each triplets will have to be fed from a milk machine and they will be pet lambs! Ha ha yes we'd be moaning if they were all singles! Wish you lived up the road too! Thanks for replying π
Oh, you have my sympathy, lambing is a tough time of year. I hope the fridge-freezer related sprain gets better quickly.
Jester puss you've earned a good treat this evening ? What's your thing? I've started splashing out on expensive smellies. Bath foam etc. It's a touch of luxury. (It'll also keep you out of the kitchen!)
Could you tell yourself you've done your resistance training for today?
I hope Storm Imogen hasn't made it more difficult for the lambs.
Hi derrygeel, yes I'm into nice smellies and bath foam! I'll be treating myself to a long soak later! And yes it'll keep me out of the kitchen! Ha ha and I've definitely done my resistance training for today!! It's quite windy here and VERY wet!! The sheep lamb inside if poss so that's not too bad, but there's always some that need moving about in the dark, rain, wind! We're in Lancashire and I think the worst of the storm is down South. Hope you have a good week and thanks for replying to my post! π
Hope you feel better soon π
Try and squeeze in a little bit of 'you' time if you can, even if it's just a quick read or a soak on the bath - try to recharge your battery whenever you can ( or write and read here when you can π).
Hi Elissy, thankyooo.... I'm sure I'll be fine soon! I will have a soak later when everything's quiet! It'll be a busy few weeks, but worth it! I luv this forum so I will definitely be reading when I can and posting too! Hope you have a good week π π
"nearly all the sheep are giving birth to triplets!"
You've got the wrong breed there. You need some of those Icelandic sheep that have four teats! βΊ
brings new meaning on this thread to the fridge being your enemy....
Ha ha nice one!!! It was definitely my enemy this morning! π
Ooh that'd be great!! Four treats!!! I'm off to Iceland ( ha ha no pun intended ) π
What a day! Hope you feel better physically soon.
Reading through the posts you sound like you have been thoroughly entertained, with a few giggles here and there!
Am too tired to think of anything to say other than, isn't everyone just the best on here!
Take care lovely!
