Despite all my best efforts still unable to lose weight its as if my body's conspiring against me. Now trying a new tack of eating smaller portions of the basic food groups, and doing some daily exercise; walking indoors, and using hand weights. Any tips on how to motivate myself?

still getting no where!
Remind yourself daily why you are doing this for yourself. I have a goal outfit that i see everytime i go into my wardrobe keeps me focused to work towards fitting into it. I had a goal outfit for my bday last week was the best feeling in the world fitting into it. Another way ive found to stay motivated is to judge yourself on successes that dont involve the scales, i.e. inches lost around the waist, sometimes you can still lose around the waist but not on the scales. Another one i have is i am able to now feel the smallest muscle definition within my bingo wings, something small but showing the hard work is paying off. I really hope you do well. Trial and error til you find what works for you. Good luck
I know exactly how you feel. Having been thinking that way too over the past few days. Smaller portions and daily exercise should get the ball rolling again I hope. Don't give up good things will happen xx
It will be worth all the hard work I am sure. Good luck sweetie
We all go through rough patches. I find it so hard to be motivated to do excerice and eat healthy especially after work or a long day! I have found small goals really help literally taking it a day at a time and then at the end of each day I look back and if I have managed to stick to the plan and even fit a bit of activity in, I let myself think about what my life will be like when I have lost all my weight and all the things I want to do or wear lol. I also don't look at it as a diet I try remind myself that even though losing weight is a huge part of what I want, a healthy life is what I need! I am trying to make a total lifestyle change to be happier and healther! Good luck and we are all here to help x
You've got good replies already.
You need a dog.
I don't mean you have to buy your own.
Do you have a friend or neighbour with a dog? Perhaps you could walk with them.
Is there an elderly person who would like their dog to have more exercise than they can give? Committing to someone else is usually a good motivator.
We got a dog 18 months ago before I started any of this. I now have a reason to go for a walk in all weathers- rain, hail or snow for an hour and a half at least every day.
Go for a swim. Local council pools are cheaper than the gym and you don't have to sign up to join. you just pay as you go. If you are entitled to certain benefits, you get it even cheaper.
COME ON, LET'S GET MOVING!!!!!!
Thanks for the message, I intend to get moving lol!!!! I have also been challenged by my hubbie so I intend to make him eat his words!!!! Just obtained a DVD that I can use indoors when my vertigo prevents me from walking outside and I am looking forward to trying it out. Will let you know how I get on.
