Week 4- exercise habit good, eating requires room for improvement....

I managed to exercise 5 times last week and plan to maintain this. Food habits still wonky. Bizarrely started to eat garlic bread having survived without it for months and had two lots of pasta with gluten- I have been low gluten for 18 months for health reasons. I will be turning to 'eating less' Gillian Riley as I suspect I have been telling myself ' I should not eat ...' And I am rebelling!

No weight loss week 3, lost 2 cm waist.

Hiya, I thinkweek3 is known to be a tricky one. Stick with it! As for me, I've fallen by the way side completely. Eating the most ridiculous things in larger amounts than normal. We are selling our house and hoping to move and I think it's unsettling and making me have stupid food cravings! I'm going to be so sorry when summer comes and I have to peel off the layers and expose my fat! HELP!!!!!!

Just think about how much exercise you'll get with all the packing you'll be doing - and the lifting and carrying! Stop eating ridiculous things in large amounts and eat ridiculous things in small amounts! You can do it! Picture yourself in the summer!

Moving house is one of the most stressful things to do. Are you eating for comfort? Try thinking of ways handle the stress, have a list of activities you like to do, that can take your mind off food (dancing, singing, listening to music, catching up with friends), and work out when the trigger times are. When they hit, recognise them for what they are and do something from your happy list. See if that works.

Funnily enough, might be moving too... Light1- let's make a committment to each other- that we need to 'move and shake' rather than ' the move shaking us'! Remember this the next time you reach for more food than you need. That's my behavioural plan for the week, how does it sound?

Hi TiredDoc, thanks for your encourAgement. I definitely turn to food when the stress levels rise. Every week I buy little treats thinking I can control myself and eat sparingly but I'm kidding myself. So, the cupboards are completely bare of bad things and I'm starting again. I have put on about 4 lbs since week 1 and now feel thoroughly fed up with myself. So please, as you suggested, let's move and shake together, your encouragement and support is very much appreciated.

Have you managed to do better with eating this week? Good that you're maintaining the exercise levels!

Hi Light 1. This week has been difficult mainly due to lots of changes to routine and additional demands. I didn't seem to enjoy the grazing- which is my M.O.- and with guests staying started 'treating' myself ' because we have guests'. I am going to turn it round asap. Sleep much better tho.

Rebelling ? Yes !!!!! You think you're doing fine, then 'zing' it comes back and bites you on the arse !!!! I definitely agree about rebelling but it does pass, hang on in there , don't be bullied by feelings ! You're the boss ! You'll win in the end it was just trying to derail your good plan, don't bloody let it doc !!!!

I sometimes feel myself rebelling. It's almost like I'm trying to claim back some control. I'm aware that what I'm eating is not healthy, but I don't care, and say so. Why is that, do you think?

18 months is a great run of gf. Was it the rebel that made you do it, or a craving for garlic, bread or both. Are there any good gf alternatives to garlic bread?

Yes, I normally make my own gf or spelt bread. It was very odd why I was gripped by craving. Didnt even enjoy it much either.

The rebelling I also experienced giving up smoking, addiction & abstinence do seem to have a lot of similarities don't they ....
