hi, I'm cat & I'm 23 February this year. I was 13 stone, & now 12st 10lb, im 5"4. I have been having under 1000 calories a day. I've been using a cal counter app on my phone to see how many calories a day I am having. I'm hoping to do well, but finding it really hard.
Thanks
Cat

Well done sounds like your doing great remember to set realistic goals and try to fit in some excercise check how many calories you should be having on the nhs website it will prob be more than 1000 good luck and stay positive x
Less than 1000 cals could be too little and that could be why you are finding it hard, maybe try increasing a little at a time, so you can continue to lose weight but feel fuller and more energetic from eating slightly more
Hi, 1000 calories is quite low..the 12 week plan suggests 1400 for women and 1900 for men...try not to lose too much weight quickly do it slow and steady...then you should not have too many high and lows...and struggle...have a good rest of the week..
Hi, I started at 12st 11lbs last may. Im an inch taller but Im 62 so my metabolic rate is a lot lower than yours, you lucky thing! I used myfitnesspal app to calculate my Bmi, TDEE ( maintenance level) and BMR ( base metabolic rate) and set my daily Net Calories as 1300 . This resulted in a safe, steady loss of 1-2lbs a week for the first stone, which slowed down for the last stone, but Im still losing ... 23lbs lost and 4lb to go to my target. Try increasing your calories a bit, you are more likely to keep at it and you WILL still lose , even on 1400!
I lost three stone on the 5:2 diet in six months. My TDEE is low at 65 so I allowed myself up to 1500 calories five days a week, and up to 500 calories on two non-consecutive days a week. I use MyFitnessPal too - it's a great motivator. Two days a week I just don't click on the 'complete entry' button.
Wow, we are the same age, same height and same weight!!
I'm 23 in april, 5 ft 4 and weigh 12 stone 8 at the moment.
Also want to be around 10 stone or less as soon as possible. I'm currently doing the 5:2 diet and have lost 3.5 pounds in two weeks. I think you're probably eating too little which is maybe why you're finding it hard. My fitness pal suggests that I eat 1200 a day, and the NHS plan suggests 1400, so maybe you should up it a bit (or try 5:2!) x
