I use MyFitnessPal, it's a really good app for counting calories, you can put your limit in so you can keep track of how many you have and you can also record your exercise on there and how much water you drink. I'd highly recommend it. Good luck!
I have a sheet with all my calories on for the foods I eat and the portion sizes I usually have. Then I work out my weeks menu on an excel spread sheet and that tots all the calories. It's easier to stick to healthy eating when meals and snacks are planned. Hope you have great success with your weightloss
