Well, here it goes! Signed up for this as I'm fed up of walking past shop windows and realising the fat bird I can see in the reflection is me! Middle age (40's) has crept up on me and I just can't get away with it any more - I need to do something! Weighed in at 12st13lb this morning and I want to be 10st8lb by December .......... wish me luck! :0)

Hi Mandy - I joined Friday, weighing in at 12 stone 7 & would love to be 10 1/2 stone by Xmas. Found this site really helpful, lots of g8 advice. I've also downloaded the My Fitness Pal app, I'm rubbish with anything technical but I can understand - it's actually quite addictive! Best advice given to me so far is to set small goals & be patient, all the very best , keep us updated x

Today is my day one too. I am 20st so my journey is likely to be a little longer, I was 40 in April. my aim is to 16st by xmas! this would take me off obese and "just" into very fat. still it what I weighed at 16 so I should still actually feel much better and a bit less of a walking beach ball. I think this will work this time. I'll support you is you support me!

I have just signed up and my Day 1 will be on Monday - unsure why it is always a Monday! I would like to loose 3 stone by Christmas but have a holiday in about 11 weeks and would be very happy to loose 2 stone……Good Luck!!

You can do it! I lost three stone in six months so your weight loss is achievable by December. This little video will show you how to do it youtu.be/W9Aj6hRYg4A together with MyFitnessPal.

I was a yoyo dieter until this way of eating but I got to an unbelievable for me size 10 and I've stayed the same weight now since April 2013.

The diet is based on an amazing BBC Horizon programme that aired in August 2012 called "Eat, Fast and Live Longer" disclose.tv/action/viewvide... and that spawned the 5:2 Diet, otherwise known as the Fast Diet. It's truly changed my life and, at 64, I've never been as slim, fit and healthy, without it costing me a penny (apart from the lovely new clothes I've had to buy)!

Hi Mandy. I've just signed up for this too, my first day will be Monday. I'm off to buy some scales this morning but I am the same as you there or thereabouts I'm in my 40's and I've had enough of letting the food and drink control me. I too would love to be 10st 8lb by Christmas. Good Luck xx
