Hi Bear

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage, I hope you will have more success in the future if you are hoping to try again.

Most people on this site follow the NHS 12 week plan, with varying degrees of success. If you have no underlying health problems it's probably a good place to start.

I have found that I need to keep an eye on my carbohydrates, and try to avoid sugar as much as possible. Make sure you are eating the most nutritious food you can.

Good luck Bear.

Hello Bear,

I'm sorry to hear you had a miscarriage - I hope you're feeling better now. I'm following the Nhs 12 wk plan and finding it very helpful. I'm using myfitnesspal to log the food I eat. - this has helped me focus on portion size and what I'm really eating! I'm also drinking a little more water than I used to which is good. I've had positive results with these efforts - and it's only been quite small adjustments to my lifestyle so far. It's worth a try. Good luck!

Hi bear, I am so sorry for your loss. I had a miscarriage in 2002 and know how devastating it is. I gained some weight back then too, comfort eating. Eventually I just had to say to myself that I would never find what I was looking for in the bottom of a packet of crisps or in that last slice of cake.

I wanted my baby, and food couldn't give that to me.

Were you offered counselling or any type of support for your loss? I would recommend it. You can ask for it on the NHS, so you don't have to pay, or you can find a private therapist.

Good luck.

Not what you're looking for?
