I have a left over roasted ham joint, i thought it might go well with some wholewheat pasta however I don't know what kind of sauce to serve it with? any suggestions would be great.

You could try cooking up chopped celery, carrots and onion / garlic in some olive oil, then add some passata and herbs like basil. If you've got your own tomatoes you could make your own passata.

I know what I would try doing with it. My mum used to make something she called a ham bake, but she's lost the recipe. It was rice, mushrooms, peas and left over ham in a large oven dish with water, herbs and a tin of tomatoes. She used to grate cheese on top and bake it for about 40 mins, I think. It was lovely, but she doesn't remember how much water or what herbs. Doh!
