I've lost weight by calorie counting and exercise. I use nutracheck and eat all the foods I like. Portion size is the key
thanks feeling good this week so fingers crossed x
Hi, I agree with vonnyliz. Don't look on this as a 'diet' but look at it as a way of eating for life, plus exercise. The only way to lose weight is calories out must be more than calories in. I still eat all the foods I ate before (a fairly healthy balanced diet) but less of them. Portion control and initially weighing rice, pasta etc is the key. If you eat out occasionally don't worry about calories, once in a while won't hurt. Good luck.
You may have to experiment a little to find what works for you, so give yourself time to change your eating habits. Don't go too low calorie or you will end up tired and hungry. I kept a food diary when I first started, because I've got a rubbish memory.
What worked for me was firstly giving up sugar, as far as possible. I didn't realise how addicted I was until I tried! Sugar gets put in a lot of processed foods, especially low fat foods. I have the occasional treat. I also made carbohydrates the smallest part of my meals.
Find some exercise you enjoy. Getting started is always the hard part, but you've done that. Good luck.
Thanks everyone. Must admit I'm a bit of a slave to carbs.... might start there!
Calorie counting and exercise for me as well, i am also a fan of those small ready meal that you can get in a supermarket nice small portion but ok if you eat them slowly with a teaspoon from the original container that they come in - never tip them on to a plate the food will look lost.
I joined weight watchers as needed to have an idea of what I could eat lost 2stone in eight months with very little exersice so if you need something with support I would recommend this good luck with whatever you decide.
