I'm having one of those mornings where I just feel HUNGRY. I had my breakfast about half an hour ago and am already thinking about how early can I eat my lunch. I am, however, reaching for the water bottle. Someone has just told me that hunger pangs are very similar in sensation to dehydration pangs. I know I don't drink enough so it sounds reasonable. So, water it is then.

Are you hungry or dehydrated?
Hi Lazydaysinmay
I often find the same - eaten breakfast and an hour later I am hungry (yet it's weetabix or porridge, so it shouldn't be hunger). I find more liquid helps, also distraction - unless I am at work!
Enjoy the water.

Try a protein breakfast if you have time. It will keep you feeling fuller for longer.
Hi Folks,
One alternative might be to substitute Weetabix with Oatibix - not sure if anyone else is making an equivalent, I've not seen any supermarket own versions as yet.
It's like having porridge almost, but quicker. I also put a bit of pinhead Oatmeal on it.
It is a few more calories though.
Good luck with your weight loss journeys.
Good to see you back
Than you Doikosp - I have managed to get some Oatibix today so look forward to trying it - looking forward to feeling fuller for longer.
Thanks Concerned. I hadn't realised this.
Hi Concerned... I saw this mentioned before - and am at a loss re the wholemeal bread you mention being high GI, as I have about 4 slices of wholemeal bread with 7 seeds, daily. What would you recommend as an alternative? I have googled in where to obtain low GI bread, and the only response is baking it oneself or a bakery (named) but not near to me..I have "searched" at the supermarkets on line for rye bread without luck - as do all my shopping this way. I guess that the rye bread (which Vogels used to make some years ago), would be ideal, but cannot find that anywhere now. I LOVE s'wiches at lunch-time: and might have a sarnie in the evenings too as find prawns or tinned sardines, for instance, need to be enfolded in bread - rather than eating these mixed in with salad or putting them on top of rice or pasta. I thought I was doing the healthy thing having these sarnies (4 slices) with prawns and loadsa salad, separately - or even brocolli as a side dish with a pinch of parmesan. Have you any suiggestions?
Wholemeal bread should be fine. This is one site that gives lists of low to high GI foods. weightlossresources.co.uk/d...
I've switched to Oatibix - although I am still hungry before lunch it is not as soon as I have eaten! Yes, they do use quite a bit of milk but with careful measuring and using skimmed milk, they are still within the recommended breakfast guideline of 280 cals for women on the NHS Choices.
