I'm on day 3 of first week and after posting on how hungry I was Tuesday night, I seem to be between 1200 and 1300 cals a day, not feeling desperately hungry though missing a couple of things. Should I keep going as I am or try and get nearer to 1400?

1400 or less?
I would try to be as close as you can to 1400 as this us still quite a low amount and when your weightloss plateaus at least you can drop another 100 to get it moving again .
It depends a lot on how much you need to lose, your age and height and how much exercise you do. I am only 5ft 2 and I'm in my 60s, I don't burn so much energy as I did when I was young and I had to lose about 20ib. So far I've lost a stone on 1200cals per week a steady loss of 1Ib per week with a few blips. I worked out that I probably only burn about 1700cals a day but everyone is different and it is possible to work it out but I can't remember the link. Good luck maybe start on1400 and see how it goes!
I meant to say 1200 cals per day haha, I would really be starving if that was my weekly allowance!
Thank you. It's what my husband also said; if I can stay 1400 as close as poss as it's still 600 down on RDA. It is only day 4, so still finding my feet really...
I set my cal intake at 1200 from the very start as i struggle to eat because i suffer from ibs(c) and eating only makes it worse and then i get so bloated and sore i skip meals until all improves which can take a cpl of weeks and it has worked out well for me i have lost 22lbs in 15 weeks and feeling so much healthier i have had the odd time when ive slipped way up higher but not often this last week and a half ive been struggling to even hit the 100o a day mark but then ive been stuck at my desk in work and not been out on the shop floor as much so im not worrying myself over it
