I managed to lose about 4 k over a month or so by eating smaller meals and missing supper sometimes. However , recently I gave up Smoking cigarettes (good) but now I get hungry instead and I’m back to 83k instead of 82.

Good morning and welcome back, crothinner :)

I'm not sure if reducing and cutting out meals is sustainable, and it's generally best to aim for a way of losing weight that you can sustain for good, rather than a "diet" that you do intensively and then come off. Giving up smoking is the best gift you could give yourself: I haven't been a smoker but I know well from others what a challenge that is and how it can affect your appetite and weight but do stick with it. There will be other members around who can chat to you about the smoking side of things.

All the best :)

Yes thank you, I agree about not going on an intensive diet. But I have a friend who has lost weight and is looking really good and she eats whatever she likes but nothing after 1.00 pm! So when I fall asleep while watching tv in the evening I just go to bed to continue sleeping! I probably need less food as I get older. But I do have a very healthy breakfast and I eat lots of fruit and almost no puddings

I don't usually eat before 1ish as I'm not hungry before then.

Have a look at the daily diary (follow the blue link TheTabbyCat gave you) and see how other members plan their meals, then join in when you're ready
