Can anyone relate and help me. I’ve been diagnosed with PCOS since I stopped having periods in December 2020. I suffer with mostly all symptoms especially noticed my hair volume and wide parting and noticeable scalp! I will give up work if it gets worst. The doctor didn’t seem to help me when I said I’m mostly concerned with my hair loss! I’m only young still and my hair is every thing to me! The doctor just says to lose weight to control symptoms! 🥲 I’ve also been prescribed Medroxyprogesterone 10mg to be taken for 10-14 days to force my period although I’m worried about taking it as it isn’t natural way. As the doctor wants me to have at least 2 periods this year to stop the uterus thickening which I can understand. I’ve always been regular prior to December 2020.
Can anyone help me? Have you suffered with hair loss and what did you do? Also has anyone been prescribed medroxyprogesterone just to force their period? And if so did it help kick start your periods again?

Hi. I’ve never been given any medication for my pcos and I too had really bad hair thinning, looked completely bald in some places. I personally was so unhappy with this that I invested in a couple of lace front wigs and watched lots of videos on how to make them look natural (I got two from Amazon and one from Etsy) but honestly it made me feel so much better, at first I was so nervous that it was noticeable until someone asked me if I’d dyed my hair lol. Recently I was diagnosed with fatty liver disease so I’m trying even harder to lose weight and although it’s beyond hard I did manage to lose 5% and my hair has thickened up enough that I don’t feel the need to wear my wigs anymore. This is just my personal experience but hope it helps.
Hi! This happened to me too. I’ve been feeling soo insecure as my hair has always meant a lot to me!
I went to the doctors and he completely ruled out PCOS! He just gave me a shampoo to try as he thought it might be my seborrheic dermatitis.
I’ve had that for years and I know that it’s not that and I have it under control. He also said that in a month and a half I can do in to do a blood test as he thinks I might be low on iron.
Basically it was a complete waste of time and I’m going to go bald by the time my doctors even consider it being PCOS
