Hormonal issues or mental health

Would you say this was hormonal issues or mental health ?

Gp says mental health but did not even listen .

Mood swings , grumpiness and sometime over one subject I do overwhelm myself . What is this going back to first question .

I not sure if it is mental health but I may be incorrect .

I seem to have lost my way .

Why do you ask this here? I assume you have pcos?

Your moods will be affected by your hormones.

Pcos affects your mental health.

What are you asking the gp for? Help with your mood?

Yes I do have pcos . This is what the GP said your moods will be affected by your hormones.

How does the Pcos affect mental health?

I am asking the GP for help with a few things- moods , headaches,dizziness etc.

Oh I see! I don’t know the exact science behind it but more testosterone can make you more irritable, more oestrogen makes you hot (and maybe irritable like me?), low progesterone can account for low moods etc but mainly, your hormone ‘fluctuations’ (the speed at which they go up and down) will affect how you feel mentally, hormones are stimulated or underestimated by brain activity.

That’s the literal part.

Living with the symptoms of pcos (facial hair, weight gain, thinning scalp, infertility etc) might make us feel ‘unwomanly’ and substandard in our societies.

low progesterone maybe my problem with the mood feeling can the GP do blood test to find out and how do they treat ????

Yes regular blood tests are a good idea, pcos means your hormones are unpredictable so they may be different really quickly - that’s why it’s important to do blood tests regularly.

You can choose to treat hormones like progesterone with pills. I have discovered a way to balance my hormones with diet. I can’t tell you what food to eat for what hormone but I can tell you that eating less gluten made me less tired, eating no sugar balanced out my mood and not eating meat made my oestrogen come back
