So I have been having many hormonal issues in the last 5 years. In the last 6 months these have got worse:acne on my back and chin I'm 28 and have never had acne before, irregular heavy periods they range from 26 to 31 days depending on the month, severe bloating and water retention, severe breast tenderness and I basically feel pregnant every month, I'm not on any contraception but definitely not pregnant. Anyway I had my bloods done on cycle day 4 and my LH was 14.300 and my FSH was 7.900. My LH seems high compared to FSH at that time in my cycle, does anyone know? I am struggling to get the doctors to listen to me and PCOS is something I think Is a possibility.
LH/FSH levels: So I have been having many... - PCOS UK (Verity)
LH/FSH levels
I have PCOS too, my results on day 3 of cycle were:
March:
FSH: 4.7
LH: 20.5
With acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine they improved hugely and I got pregnant 3 months later. In order to confirm PCOS you need to have an internal scan to check your ovaries, I had small follicles in both my ovaries confirming my PCOS.
If I understood correctly in the Follicular phase your levels should be:
FSH: 4-13
LH: 2-13
So your LH level is only slightly higher than average?
Thanks for getting back to me, really appreciate it. What Chinese medicine? Yes that's what I thought but wasnt sure about LH/FSH ratio being a bit high
It’s natural medicine made of herbs that you drink like a hot tea. I don’t know how to calculate the ratio to be honest, do you?
Anyway, my Lh was 20.5 instead of 13 in March, in June it was in the normal range.
Mmm I will look into that, anything that can help would be great. I thought LH and FSH were suppose to be similar at the start of cycle
