I’ve just had an ultra sound and internal scan and they said one ovary is bigger than the other and has lots of follicles what does this mean for me ? And TTC , I’m awaiting hormone blood tests and my periods have been more regular since taking inositol powder

Thanks

Hi,

I posted about this fairly recently after my scan, too. Re. the size of the follicles, people on here explained that with PCOS, the follicles don't always grow to maturity and then don't release an egg. Therefore, these immature follicles can still be seen on the scan. I'd imagine that if / when you do ovulate, the follicles don't stay around - so in someone without PCOS, you wouldn't be able to see them.

Hope that helps! We are also TTC and it is a frustrating process but what you've been told seems very common for PCOS sufferers - and there do seem to be lots of positive stories, even if it does take a while!

Good luck x
