Hi Teapot12,

Yes I take two pills a day. I take something called metaphormin. Hopefully not for much longer thou as I get really bad side affects and I strangely can never sleep while on it

Thanks , I’m really asking for my daughter who is 20 she’s always had problems but no one would entertain her till she was 18. So she had scans one lot of blood tests and then chucked on the mini pill she’s so upset because she’s lost wait following low card and exercise but there seems to be so little empathy from doctors just wondered how they would cope bleeding for months at a time and then nothing for months and all the emotional ups and down and fatigue!!!

Rant over sorry, wish you all the best and hope you find the right thing for you xx

I completely understand being in the exact same situation as your daughter. When I went to my last consultation and I told them how I was feeling. The doctor just said can you drop to one instead then. Which I was annoyed with because even one a day gives me symptoms.

For me I don’t bleed. I have 4 periods a year if I’m lucky.

Honestly the up and down with hormones is terrible so I feel sorry for my family when they have to deal with an hormonal mess. It also confuse me whether it’s actually hormonal or if I’m actually sad.

Thank you and I wish all the best for your daughter and you as well

To be honest I didn’t know anything about PCOS until I started researching because the doctors weren’t listening. She would go months without a period and yes I think the hormonal mood swings are worse than if your “normal” they seem from an outsiders point of view more intense.

I wish I could knew the right words, but I will say your family might not completely get it (just like us) but they love you anyway warts and all.

Good luck and try to keep smiling xx

Well in personal experience sometimes not saying anything is best. There’s been situations where I’ve been balling over the tiniest thing and all my mom does is cuddle me and even though I’m a 19 year old, having her motherly love is always comforting. Or when I go through an easily irritable period she stands up for herself and don’t let me get away with it. Which normalises it. If that makes any sense?

Thank you and I’m sure your daughter loves you too. She knows you’re trying your best.

You too x
