Clomid and false OPK

Hello, I had my first cycle of Clomid 50mg and had two scans that showed that my follicles weren’t as big as they were supposed to be.

I am now away and can’t do another scan and the nurse said is very unlikely that I would ovulate. However I took an OPK this morning and it showed positive. Could this be false? Or is there a chance that my body just took longer to develop the egg? The lad scan I took was 3 days ago. Any thought? Thanks!

We usually ovulate later than the norm but OPK's are unreliable anyway for us and the clomid could well affect the readings too. What day in your cycle were you scanned 3 days ago ?

It was day 11! I had one on day 9 and the nurse said straight away that the follicle was too small and unlikely to developer. Then I had a secoubd scan two days later but as I’m now out of the country I can’t do another one, that’s why I bought the OPK. I thought it was a long shot but didn’t want to lose hope :( Next month I’ll try 100mg of Clomid so hopefully it will work!

Day 11 is way too early for us. You dont remember the size do you? do you know how many follicles you had ?

What was your cycle like before? For a non pcos ladies who has regular cycles then at day 11 you would see the follicle at a certain size but because our periods are irregular often then there is no set day for us to ovulate (and we dont always - my fertility nurse said with pcos we have lots of cysts which are follicles and basically they are a lazy lot, waiting for one of the others to take that leap to ovulate and none do which is why we are hit and miss).

Clomid can be a bit of trial and error too with dosage and ovulation, it wouldnt show at day 11 for us though unless you have the perfect cycle.
