Does Clomid change your cycle length?

Hello all! Just coming to the end of my first cycle of Clomid. The internal ultrasound looked good but bloods have confirmed I didn't ovulate 😔, so now I have to wait for my period before we can try again.

My cycle is normally 36-41 days long- does anyone know if it is likely to be shorter due to the Clomid?

They always said to me that it could change the length of it but I never found it did - clomid doesn't force ovulation all it does is create more follicles in the hope that one of them jump - our fertility nurse said because their are lots of follicles, they all wait for one of the others to take the leap but none do, lazy lot.

Mine were anything from 2-11 days late - if you are anything from 2 days over your normal then it tends to mean you aren't ovulating (doesn't need to be the 'normal' cycle it is whatever 'your' normal is.

We do tend to ovulate later than the norm so personally keep going :-) so your blood tests may have been too early and you may still ovulate.

are you charting your temperature or anything? If not look at fertilityfriends website as it advises what body signs to look for.

Has your partner been tested and have your tubes been checked too ?

Hi, thanks for the advise. Yes partner is Mr SuperSperm and my tubes are fine it's just the ovaries that don't want to play.

I'm not charting anything because it was just confusing me. Is there anything you recommend? X

I never charted as didn't know about it at the time. Look at the details about signs to look for, I know your discharge can change at ovulation time so its things like that to look for. Dont bother with the ovulation kits as they dont work. Do you know what day they did your blood tests ?

What dose clomid are you on ?

They did blood test on day 16 ? that could have been ok - will they increase the dose as sometimes it is a bit of trial and error as we can over stimulate

Yes blood test on day 16. They told me to take the same dose again for the next cycle and then go for another scan. It's just a waiting game for my period now which could take another 3 weeks given it's unpredictability! X

Gives you the patience for when you have children that is what I think - I wasnt a very patient person before but am since fertility and with Noah :-) You will get their in the end, just can be a bit of trial and error sometimes when taking fertility drugs as we are a special lot !!
