I am 24 and I was diagnosed with PCOS in June 2017. My symptoms are excess hair growth, acne but the most prominent is my periods. Unlike most woman with PCOS my periods are very frequent and super heavy. Currently I am on day 24 of constant heavy bleeding and I am at my wits end.
I was referred to an endocrinologist and he recommended the progesterone only pill (I’m not allowed to take the combined pill as I get migraines). I was on this pill a few years ago and it stopped my periods all together but my acne was horrendous so I ended up coming off it. I’ve just started taking it again to see what happens and my skin is already playing up and no sign of change with my periods.
I would just like some advice as I’m not sure what to do, does anyone else have periods like me? Any advice would be great as it really upsets me that I’m not in control of my body.
Thanks in advance xx

Sorry you are having a horrible time, I was diagnosed with PCOS at 15, I too suffered with constant heavy bleeding and over the years tried several contraceptive pills but side effects always seemed to outway the benefit.
The best thing I ever did was get the mirena coil fitted. It only contains a small amount of hormone and I haven’t got any side effects plus bleeding is minimal. Although not sure if the migraines would rule this out.
I am so sorry you are having such a challenging time, hope you get some relief soon
