I know lots of ladies that have conceived with clomid, metformin is primarily a diabetes drug so should only be prescribed to you if you are insulin resistant which not all pcos ladies are. Has your partner been tested yet as they will do that too. I do know IR ladies who have conceived also after being on metformin. Don't know of many on both though.
theanswertopcos diet has produced over 1500 babies conceived after following her diet. I wasn't TTC when I did it 10 years ago but have maintained my weight since then. You have been accepted to fertility so you cannot be that overweight as they wont accept you if your bmi is over 30
I tried Clomid when I was trying to get pregnant with my 1st (after 5 years of trying) although I did not get pregnant whilst I was on the course, I did get pregnant 6 weeks after I finished the course. So don’t be disheartened if it does not work whilst you are taking it, I think it kick started my ovaries into ‘working’.
Thank you my appointment letter came today for 9th may, i just really want it to happen but i am worried that i work in a hospital and all the stress from work and my home thats not going to help
I have PCOS and was prescribed Metformin for it. That immediately made my cycles regular so didn’t need to move onto Clomid. I’m not insulin resistant as far as I know (in fact I’m not even overweight as many with PCOS are) but it still worked for some reason. Still took me quite a while to get a pregnancy that stuck after regulating my cycles (had one miscarriage) but I’m now 39 weeks pregnant waiting for my baby to join me any day.
I'm so glad to hear good news. Nearly there now hope all goes well. One little buddle baking. After taking Clomid I fell in last one of taking Clomid. Have a 13 year old boy who is perfect. Is my only one that was enough for me to love. Good luck enjoy every minute. 😀
Hi there, don't give up that's all I say. 14 years ago aged 26 I was told I would be lucky to have children.my hubby and I was trying from honey moon for 6 months. We were both in our twentys. I went doctor and blood test later. I was told under active thyroid. So started pills for that and was booked to go to hospital for help. Tests were done my hubby was told low sperm and I was to have I investigation scan. It came back with pcos. Put on Clomid for 6 months. 6 months later after planning sex and the stress we still had no luck. We saw specialist he said next thing would be ivf so we decided to have a break from it and think. Funny thing 1 week later I had a sickness bug or was it! I was pregnant😀. So please dont give up and keep going but relax. Was it down to Clomid? Or just luck who knows. All the best. X
