Hi all :-) I have recently been diagnosed with PCOS after a year of trying to conceive. I have been started on clomifene 50mg today but because my periods are non existent I have also been given progesterone to induce a period so I can start my clomifene. Just wondering if anyone else has had to do this and what it was like for you?

Thanks, Sharon x

Expect to be tearful over ridiculous things like adverts LOL. I hated clomid as felt quite low on it so just remember it is a means to an end and let your partner know you may cry and ridiculous things !

Hi Sharon,

I’m on day two of my first round clomifene. Yesterday I basically told a woman in tesco to f-off after she asked me to move my trolley. And this morning I burst into tears cause there was a big queue for the bus. I’m at my desk at work deciding if/when I need to warn my colleagues to walk on eggshells around me.

How are you getting on? Have you finished your first 5 days now?

I wonder, and hope, if the mood thing only last for the five days you take the tablets?

First few months is ok but the more you are on it the more it lingers in your system so expect irrational tears, but fingers crossed it works quickly. Just keep reminding yourself it is a means to an end.

Hi, only seeing reply now sorry! I am starting today but I have to start the progesterone to induce a period as I have no cycle to begin the clomifene :( I have been putting off starting it since last Friday as I'm nervous of the side effects and I don't want to be that way at work (I'm a nurse!)

I hope u are feeling better soon! X

Hi Sharon, can I ask how you got on with this? I am newly diagnosed ttc and expect to be put on clomid in the near future as I don't ovulate or have periods xx
