dizziness and vertigo can be a side effect of vasculitis. What tablets are you taking, could they be causing it?

Hi Selbourne,

Yes your dizziness/vertigo is almost certainly caused by your Vasculitis. When I was first diagnosed with GPA my balance was severely affected. 18 months on my balance has significantly improved but I still need to be careful turning quickly. I believe that the inner ear is affected by the disease which causes the balance issues.

If you continue to suffer, I would recommend trying to get some Vestibular Rehabilitation Treatment which is a form of physio focussed on retraining your body to get its balance back. I found someone in the South East privately at a reasonable rate of £80 per hour which definitely helped me.

I hope this helps.

I’m not sure if this is of any help to you

I had these symptoms when I was taking azathriopine. Check out side effects of your meds as piglette has suggested. I hope this passes for you soon.

oh that’s interesting I have had this to. I was in bed for 2 days it was that bad and constantly being sick it was awful. What is the treatment you mentioned?

I spoke to rheumy nurse today and she said it was nothing to do with vasculitis but have to have a blood test, earliest my dear old surgery can do is next Wednesday O Joy what has happened to our NHS!

The treatment is Vestibular Rehabilitation suggested by Dazler99 but it might be private at about £80 a shot!
