Extreme itch

Hi all, I’m new to this so please excuse any uneccesary information. I started with full body hives and extreme itch in March. Physically exhausted, not knowing each day what the ’rash’ will be like and /or which part of my face will be swollen- often look like I’ve had Botox on my lips or bashed in the eyes. GP started me on antihistamines and prednisone with little effect. Over the months I’ve been on all sorts of medication and now under hospital and have started omalizumab and had 2nd set of injections and continue to take 4 antihistamine daily. Although I remain optimistic I continue to suffer with the urticaria and extreme itch. What I’m wondering is if anyone can recommend an anti-itch cream that has worked for them? I’m currently using O’Keefes and e45 anti- itch but neither is very effective. It’s driving me nuts ! Appreciate any advice, thanks.

One thing you could try is an ointment called Emla which has ingredients of Lignocaine and prilocaine. Read the instructions carefully as it does have to be used in moderation. It’s not cheap and I found a generic brand called Numit at half the price. It should give you up to four hours relief. Because your condition seems undiagnosed it would be wise to check with a specialist first before going overboard using it. Hope you get some relief.

Thanks Lesley, at this point I’ll try anything so I’ll check that out. Cheers.

Only thing that has ever worked for me is tea tree cream. Instant and lasting relief. Nothing else has come close.

Thanks EGPAGuy, is that something I can pick up over the counter? I’ll definitely give it a go. Cheers.

Yep at any chemist or larger supermarket. Or on amazon.

Have you tried Aloe gel? It gives a bit of cool calm for me. Good luck. The itch is awful!

I have EGPA for about 14 years and had all sorts problems over and above the vasculitis norms. I recently had blisters all over my body and this evolved into a very extremely itch I had various lotions and potions and my young recommended “DREAM CREAM “ from LUSH. My skin tolerated it very well. I used all throughout the day for many many days. Ok it took several days to kick in but for me it was the BEST thing and I even had a small tub that was very portable which I took with me while out and about. I hope you get relief soon best wishes Alison. 💋 Ito going iwith p
