My husband has been suffering from extreme temperature swings, can go from 93 to 97 with no explanation. His feet can be burning hot while his fingers are purple. The only positive test he has had is for the ANA marker and Raynauds syndrome. He can no longer sleep for more than a few hours due to the temp shifts? Any ideas?

Extreme temperatures swings
Hi,
Does he have a diagnosis of Vasculitis? Is he been seen by a Consultant? You really haven't given us enough information to advise you properly.
Been seen by an endocrinologist, rheumatologist, internist
I have a positive ANA and Raynauds. Been seen by rheumatologist and endocrinologist. My condition is worsening with the temperature fluctuations and sleep disruptions.
Hi.
This is my personal experience of vasculitis.
I have PAN with APS in remission. Body temperature can be a problem for me, going from one end of the spectrum to the other for no apparent reason.
Burning feet is also a regular thing but intensity varies day to day. Blue/purple hands/forearms and legs were a regular occurrence at the beginning, but now my condition is reasonably under control the blueness tends to appear if I have "over done it", or pushed myself harder than I normally would.
I have found that some days I can be hypersensitive (pain) to the ambient temperature.
Sleep is also a problem, although the clock might say I have slept for a reasonable amount of time. My system does not seem to be able to process sleep properly any more, and I am constantly very tired.
At the end of the day the right diagnosis is the thing (stating the obvious). It took over a year and numerous tests in many different hospitals and hospital departments before my current diagnosis. I did have to be quite pushy at times to be seen by the right specialists.
Thank you so much for your response. What does PAN and APS stand for?
What treatment did you receive and how are you now?
Hi, this interested me as I get really high fevers. I've had the Doctor out a few times. I burn up and shake but feel Ice cold if that makes any sense. Not happened in 3 months now but when it does it is really bad and all over. Is this part of vasculitis I wonder ? Heart rate is now always above 100 too
Pan is polyarteritis nodosa. Type of vasculitis. And for sleep you need something to aid you. I know what you mean when you think 7 or 8 hrs is good but it turns out it's not. Recommend goto your local pharmacy get a natural sleep aid. You will notice a difference. I use Mary Jane and it works. You feel a lot better waking up opposed to in pain and stiff. Sleep is very important for our kind.
