Understand there is a nation blood bottle shortage, recent communication from GP surgery.

Has anyone had their routine bloods delayed either at hospital or GP surgery? My OH goes every 4 weeks to our local hospital. He is on MMF.

As a meme on FB said yesterday - they really don't do unnecessary tests!! I understand it is one particular sort of sample bottle with a specific anticoagulant. GPs are getting very good at get-out clauses aren't they ;)

Thank you for the message, I wasn't aware but I have researched online and found an nhs pdf which instructs hospitals how to conserve stocks as there is a global shortage. If you Google NHS shortage of blood bottles you will find the information.

I did get a repeat blood test done at my surgery. I have been told there is a global shortage of blood and so there will be a shortage of by products like immunoglobulin.
