Hi John,

Do you have any suspicions as to why during this period (Feb 1st-March 1st 2021) the numbers of users was the highest ever recorded on the VUK website?

I myself, have googled vasculitis as I,( in the last two weeks), have developed tightness in my lower legs, with skin redness, aching, heavy lower limbs and very prominent 'angry' veins. Lengthy wait to see my GP! No idea whether this has anything to do with vasculitis but concerned that it could be. I am intrigued as to whether other people, like me , have been drawn to look up vasculitis, since having the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Unsurprisingly we experienced a huge surge and interest in COVID19 and the vaccines both via the VUK helpline and the website. There was, and still is, a huge shortage of evidence based information about COVID19 and the vaccine.

We did our best to give reliable answers to the understandable concerns of many people with vasculitis including commissioning research designed specifically to address the concerns of people with vasculitis, especially those who are heavily immune suppressed.
