Hi all..First time post. 2 questions. 1. Just had results from an brain MRI and was told I have had a small stroke (which I obviously didn't notice). Has anyone else had this experience?

2. Reading through the chat I am due and extraction next Friday and am also on AA. Didnt even occur to me to mention to my dentist. Should I have this done at hospital?

My dentist said he would defer any dental work while I was taking Alendronic acid. Fortunately I didn't require any treatment during that period

Hi. Like you, I was unaware regarding tooth extraction whilst on AA. I did have a tooth removed whilst on it. It was actually on my dental records.

The dentist really struggled to remove it and my jaw was very painful for quite some time afterwards.

I was made aware of this when I needed a second tooth extracted a few years later by a different dentist. I had actually stopped taking AA for 2 years by then. The dentist warned me that AA can stay in your system for 10 years.

I was having terrible tooth ache at the time so he said he would attempt to remove it but if it was difficult he would have to refer me to the hospital. Luckily this time it didn't cause too much of a problem.

I would certainly phone your dentist to let them know.

Good luck
