I have been 'Thinking About/ Considering Armistice Day', 100 years on....I actually Finished this this morning. It's actually printed, in RED, the closet I could get.
Armistice Day 100 (I don't know how to 'Underline', on here)
One Hundred Years, to the day,
We agreed to put the Guns Away,
And find a Peace, through The Lord,
Whose Holy Power, we all Applaud,
Forgiving All of our Earthly Sin,
The Spiteful way, we have Bin,
Towards our Fellow Man,
Allowing us, now we can,
To find the Mighty Peace,
With a genuine Holy Release,
Of Love throughout The Earth,
And a return of 'Jolly Mirth'.
I think that this 'Works' fairly well, please Ignore the Sin & Bin rhyme! If you are reading this Poemsgalore1, what do you think? Come to think, of it- I know that I'm putting my head in the noose here- but what does everyone think. Please don't make, your answers, TOO 'Rude'......I'm only a Poor Little Poet, Though some people don't know it, they think that I'm really a nit, and my poems a load of...erm...err...um...Rubbish!
Seriously though, it has been 'Lovely', to see, just how well 'Marked'- this Centenary- has been. I'm yet to 'Catch Up' on, the Cenotaph Service, I have been at our Church twice today. The First was our Standard Communion Service, starting a little earlier than normal, then a Memorial- Wreath Laying Service.
This Afternoon was a 'Songs From The War' Service, with Everyone Joining The Choir- in Celebration. This was followed by a Buffet, which I didn't appreciate as much as I should have, because I had had Lunch in the local PUB! In all a VERY good Memorial Day, and a, Fitting Tribute To The Fallen- on ALL sides.
Let us Pray that this, is the start, of a World Accord or, at least, an Understanding.
