Good News On Toe Fungus

Dear All,

As some of you may already know, like many of us- who are immuno-suppressed- I developed Toe Fungus. This 'Nasty Little Condition' grows UNDER the the Nail and, quite often, on the Big Toe. I However both read about, and have tried, a New Approach- using Laser Light.

I bought a 'Fungustherapy Pro' about six months ago now, it was a bit Expensive but HAS Worked Well. This Unit looks, rather like Large Oxygen Monitor (the kind placed on your finger, when in Hospital). It 'Fires' both Blue Visible Light, and Red Invisible Light, all whist the Unit flashes with a Green 'in use' light. (this also acts as the Charge Indicator Light, going from Red to Green)

All I 'do' is give my Toe a wipe, with Alcohol Gel -unless I'm just out the shower- allow it to dry, before 'Clipping On' the Unit, which Goes Off when finished (about Seven Minutes) Afterwards I use a 'little more' Gel to cleans the Unit.

Used Twice a Day, for about the last Six Months, my Toe looks a LOT Better. This System actually Works Well, in Conjunction with, any other, Treatments too- I use a Anti-Fingal Cream. I am seeing 'my' Podiatrist in about a Fortnight anyway.

As I said, a bit Expensive, but Worth It- don't expect a Quick Treatment though. After all it took Months to Develop, in all probability, it was 'some time' before it was even Noticeable!

Dear Iwells2783,

If you 'go' into Google and just type 'Fungustherapy Pro' by Qinux' it will bring up the link. Don't expect to see a Price immediately though, only '50% Off' Offers and the like. If you read the Customer Reviews on this, or Similar Devices, they are All the same..... some people Swear BY them, Others Swear AT them!

Personally I just Ordered one, I think for around £50 (as I recall?), and it arrived around a week later. Considering my Condition, ANCA Vasculitis/ Kidney Transplant- July 2013- and ALL the Immune Suppression, that I am On- I think that it is 'Doing' Very Well Indeed. You CAN and, in fact you are encouraged, to continue with your Current 'Topical' Treatments. The Device, that looks like an 'outsized' Oxygen Monitor- the kind put on your finger, in Hospital- is used Twice A Day.

I simply 'Wipe It Out', with Alcohol Gel, when I have finished using it.

I hope that this has been of, at least, some help,

Thank you so much, I will take a look, every time I think I’m getting somewhere, it stops working.

I had a success with gentian violet. Two applications were sufficient. It is also dirt cheap.

l’m interested as l have toe fungus. The podiatrist prescribed a liquid treatment applied by dropper twice daily. The podiatrist advised it could take 2 years to clear, however l haven’t noticed any appreciable change after one year. The fungus has caused a build-up thickening dry skin under the nails causing them to lift. Are your toes affected similarly AndrewT? I ask this as there may be other types of toe fungus treated differently. Is cleaning with alcohol gel recommended or would surgical spirits do? Thanks for your interesting blog.

Yes Toe Fungus DOES cause 'Thickening Of the Nail' and indeed 'Loss Of The Nail', IF left untreated for too long! I had 'only' got Discolouration and Maybe a 'slight thickening', of the nail, when I started Treatment. The Podiatrist/ Chiropodist wasn't Too Worried about my 'Fairly Mild Condition'- though my Toe WAS 'Cracked Through' it had remained 'Fairly Stable'. I am Seeing her again next week, I will let You know, what she 'says'.

The main Problem, with 'Topical' (products put On Top, of the nail) is that the Fungus is UNDERneath the nail. This Product shines Laser Light THROUGH the nail, thus killing the fungus 'In Stitu', as it were. As I said previously you can use most, if not all, these Other Treatments in Conjunction- with this one.

I would certainly suggest that You Try This Derick. As regards 'what' you Clean Up with', I don't think it Matters- so long as it Works..... Though I think that I'd avoid Soap & Water- on the Device itself!

Saw the Podiatrist yesterday (23) and she was Very Pleased, with my Feet. Little, to No, 'visible' Fungus..... Just a ''Build Up Of Dead 'Material' Under The Nail'', which she removed- a tad unpleasant, but didn't take long.

She was Quite Happy, for me to carry on, with the 'Unit' and will see me in Six Weeks.

I'd say Quite A Result, especially considering my Medical Problems.
