Hi Jackie, I can't really tell you whether the blood vessels in your lungs are dilating or contracting. I am guessing you may have GPA vasculitis and the blood vessels in your lungs are affected. The vasculitis is attacking the tiny blood vessels which transfer the oxygen from your lungs into your blood stream. The attack is causing them to be inflamed and bleed and this is also possibly restricting the flow of blood through some of the vessels. I have MPA vasculitis and had the same sort of attack in my kidneys, causing them to pass blood. That's the layman's answer I'm afraid but I hope it helps. Chris

I have Vasculitis MPA and was hospitalized last summer for bleeding in lungs. Don’t let the bleeding go too long without treatment. Not to scare you but I had to be on oxygen 24/7 for a month and almost ventilated. My pulmonologist and former nephrologist both missed what was going on. My disease was fully active when it had been inactive for 8 months prior. Have them check your inflammation levels to see.
