Yes - minor problems - irregular heart beat. I was tested by wearing a monitor for the day. But everything calmed down after my treatment. I think the cyclophosphamide caused the reaction as it’s so strong.

Thanks, my son has taken ciclofosfamide one year ago and now they have seen that the ejection fraction of the heart has modestly reduced. They want to investigate about this things even if the number are in the range .

He has Mpa and he is fine with good results .

Anyway I'm afraid and i'm looking for experience similar and outcome

Ciao

Hi

I have had vasculitis since 2014 and had 6 pulses of cyclophosamide - I have two leaking valves which may have been due to the treatment as I wasn't aware of problems beforehand.

Hi Wizzy.

I replied to your other question but wanted to add a response here, too. I have had MPA for nearly five years and was treated with cyclo for about 6 months. I'm not certain if it is because of the disease or the treatment, but I have a rapid heart rate (tachycardia) that is treated with daily medication. No other known source for this condition exists and it's presumed to be disease or treatment related.

Hello michichgo, thanks for your answers to my messages. As happened to you, in the meantime I discovered that many patients, even oncologic, develop heart problems after the use of chemotherapy. Lorenzo's values are still in the range but the pumping power of the heart for a year has slightly decreased and in June he will have another heart ultrasound for further verification. For the rest, he is quite well. The treatments worked and he is now counteracting the side effects of cortisone and cyclophosphamide including a mild osteopenia, a knee osteochondritis and mild diarrhea.

I read that you had kidney involvement too. How is it going? Lorenzo is at the second level of renal failure with mild proteinuria. I really do not know what to expect from his kidneys if the disease stays in remission.

I hope you will find the time to let me know your experience. I also leave you my e-mail cinziagali@gmail.com. We leave in Italy (Milano)
