Some months ago now, l wrote on the Vas' HU site about a compression fracture - via a fall - in my lower spine; this happened in August 2016. Well it turns out that l have two of them, one of which - the fracture right through the vertebra - has still not healed/completely healed; hopefully the CT scan l'm going to know whether it has started to heal at all, l don't have Osteoporosis! Has anyone on this site had a fracture like this, and if so how long did it take to heal please? Any information will be greatly received.
I've checked various websites and they all say 3 - 4 months - and this is the crux of the matter - maybe be longer. Sally

I haven't experienced a fracture but I did get prednisone related osteoarthritis. That has been hard to manage but eventually I got enough pain managment that I can now do exercise sufficiently to rebuild muscle. So, I can't say how long your recovery with take but I can say that it's good to have baseline scans when you start prednisone so that any degeneration of joints can be tracked, and then you can be careful and proactive. It's an unfortunate outcome of the basic treatment.
Thanks Karen, unfortunately my fracture was caused by a spectacular fall last August, where l literally flew through the air! All l remember was being grabbed before my head hit the kerb. The pred' probably hasn't helped but l do know that l don't have Osteoporosis; hurray.
Roll on when the results come through from the CT scan but l'm going away whatever happens. Have a nice Summer.
