Hi not very good at this do my best my name is Lindsay 56yrs female at the moment having test for vasculitis to be more precise granulomatosis with polyangitis thought had a nose infection very painfull refered to ent took biopsy everything ok with that then had a nasel collapse ent refereed to a reumatologist which is where i'm at now

Sorry to hear about your nose collapsing. Do you have a long wait to see the Rheumatologist and do they have experience of treating Vasculitis as its a rare, complex disease?

I was seeing a consultant at ent dept this was before collapse had a biopsy nothing came back in his words sinister I presume he was looking for cancer but noticed I had a pin head size perforation in the septum gave me amitrypline ,naproxen and told to douche see me in 3 months, 5months later only through my gp ringing hospital that I got a apt this time nose looked odd ent immediately refered me to a rheumatologist who suspects its vasculitis but to be sure had more blood test just hsd another biopsy taken from higher up in my nose got apt next wed for ct and mri scan that is the stage where I am at at this time. yes I will admit its a little scary

Nasal biopsies aren't great for showing Vasculitis and sometimes the blood tests ( I am presuming they are doing the ANCA test ) are negative as well. Do you have any other symptoms?

Which hospital are you attending?

I attend Royal Derby hospital in Derby it seems i have had these test and nobody is telling me anything and i have scared myself half to death by looking on google
